i finally hit upon a reasonable bonus of dwarven tunnels(in mountains):
mountains passable (1 mp)
dwarves are invisible while inside
dwarves get a bonus in mountains, similar to the woodland promotion.
(it applies on attack)

Warhammer is doin somethin for their mod. Maybe they'd let you borrow their code. Ain't no harm in askin, anyway, huh?

How exactly, tho, would we be able to get it to generate on random maps?

a lot of ways, one being to just add a quasi-mapscript type function to the OnBeginGame function in the CvEventManager.py file

Well, as is obvious, you know bout it than me. I only the most basic XML codin. So, I'll leave it up to you to implement it and perfect it.
