One way I heard (for those against immigration) is to put all of the illegal immigrants to sleep, and then relocate them to Montana. When they wake up, they would run north into Canada.

I think of Starship Troopers when I read this thread, I think they showed a (in-movie) commercial saying just that - "Kill Aliens - Become an American citizen!".

To add to the idea; Why not annex Iraq while you're at it, that way the immigrants never have to enter America proper at all, you just ship them to iraq and let them stay there .

I love that movie, the advertisements are awesome, But I think that citizen means other thing in the movie (I haven't read the book, BTW), IIRC, only citizens can vote, and only ex-soldiers can be citizens, no matter where they had born. So If you want to be able to vote, you have to be a soldier.

I saw the movie when it was on the theaters, thought, so maybe I am wrong.

oh i'm pro-immigration as well, just so long as they come here legally. I have no gripe with LEGAL immigrants. there's a right and a wrong way to do things. I mean, technically if youre not native american, all american come from immigrants, but people who did it the legal -right- way

I think we need to worry more about getting the immigrants in the country, not out. And the crack option was good, count me in.

Well, I figure that with the citizenship and military training we'd have better immigrants that aren't hiding from the INS.

I just think it's a waste of time to worry so much about illegal immigrants, and they're what hel makes this country the "melting pot" it is today. Six thousand national guard troops on the border is a waste, imo. I support the rights of immigrants to housing, education, health care, jobs, and civil, legal, and political rights.

Yes, when I was referring to supporting rights, that was legal immigrants. Frankly, I am not concerned about the illegal ones though, we're wasting time and money to deploy National Guard troops and erect walls.

It depends on which tribes of Goths and Franks you're talking about. Of course the tribes that had been living under Roman rule for a while are bound to have more sophisticated technology, but weaponry doesn't make civilization.
