Ideas for C2C

I have the Shimizu Mega-City Pyramid and some other visionary arcologies in the space colonization modmod. That sure is a tech that cries out for more content.

If you really want to get the wheels spinning, take a look at the Evolo Skyscraper Competition.

yes, I read it

These three buildings and a few more are also on this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proposed_tall_buildings_and_structures - I suppose at that point in time these buildings would be alright. All of these buildings have already been proposed in real life, but aside from the funding these buildings would be a safety nightmare today, both with respect to fire and to terrorism.

OTOH these buildings are both meant to be housing, and housing is realized in this mod in a different manner. Regarding the proposed boni: Most of them are alright, I think, but why do the first two houses give :espionage: ? At this point, high ground doesn't mean a lot when it comes to spying, and so many people living together would make counter-espionage harder. It wouldn't probably need to take away :espionage: , but giving points is not justified, I think.

These wonders represents spirit and essence of Corpo-Nation (civic), Grid (civic) and Future Society in general. Main idea of future society is control, order = :espionage: - the closest bonus. It's only my opinion.

Order is better represented by negative :c5occupied: I think. And you would need these drastic civics to keep order at the current level when you have these mega-buildings.

Edit: Aside from that, these buildings seem to be less versatile than the already existing mega-tower which is available almost an entire age earlier with respect to the first two buildings and a few columns earlier than the third.

But :espionage: is about espionage - dealing with foreign spies and the dealings of your spies, the latter not being about order at all. These points overlap only as far as your police (if strong enough) can do something about the other spies. But getting points you can use for intelligence is not called for.

But how easy would it be for a foreign spy to infiltrate such a mega-building where people cannot know each other any more. You don't really need dissenters to hide them, they are just gone as soon as they are in there. It takes a lot of effort and very drastic measures even to come close to the level of surveillance you have in a current suburban neighbourhood.

Edit: These buildings are not built to increase surveillance. There are 7 (or by then probably 9) billion other reasons to build them.

Wouldn't Freemasonry be better as a religion? And enlightenment might be a bit too late - Wikipedia mentions 1598 as a possible start for the first lodge. Critical Thought might be a better tech in that case - or a tech having critical thought as a prereq if you turn it into a religion.

Freemasonry does not fit as a religion as it would not be right to have it as a State Religion and it does work across religions. It does fit with the idea of "Secret Societies". One of the well known ones where the proceedings are secret but not the existence of the society.

It could be better implemented as a type of corporation I expect.

Something like that I suppose.

Being a conspiracy theorist myself I obviously find this subject very compelling. So compelling I'm leaving it alone until I can really engineer something spectacular for it.

Freemasonry has nothing to do with conspiracies. It is just an elite club that held together longer than most.;)

Conspiracies usually turn out to be made up about secret or elite groups of people by people on the outside who think other people are more capable than them.:mischief::crazyeye::lol:

There is no clear mechanism by which these local trade organisations became today's Masonic Lodges, but the earliest rituals and passwords known, from operative lodges around the turn of the 17th–18th centuries, show continuity with the rituals developed in the later 18th century by accepted or speculative Masons, as those members who did not practice the physical craft came to be known. The minutes of the Lodge of Edinburgh (Mary's Chapel) No. 1 in Scotland show a continuity from an operative lodge in 1598 to a modern speculative Lodge.[41] It is reputed to be the oldest Masonic Lodge in the world.[42] (wikipedia)
1598 - first step
18 century (enlightenment) - organized, developed Freemasonry
I think 'Req Tech' is more a question of taste :D
