hej guys

so simple question : if you could change one event or action in history , what would it be and why? u know like the outcome of a battle or...

mine would be : the last abassid caliphate surendering to the mongols so that they wouldn't destroy baghdad & the agricultural systems of iraq @ that time instead of threatning Hulagu & then not doing anything to protect the city

peace :P

Gettysburg! 'Nuf said. :)

All right, I'm kidding. But for an event, how about.... Bay of Pigs. U.S. provides air support, and the rebels take down Castro.

Cnut the Great lived to make Scandinavia and England one country:D

God murdered by the dice trying to correct the refs on that game Cal shouldn't have won.

If fictional works count it would always be fun to briefly skateboard by Hamlet a few scenes in to say, "Yo Hamz, Imma dude from the 21st century and Claudius killed your father."

I kill the senators in Rome, saving Julius's life.

This may be pushing it, but I'd defeat the Unions propaganda efforts in the Washington/Oregon area of the union. This would lead to Cascadia's secession from the Union.

Go back and change myself from the Vince Carter of academic work to...um...Jerry West.

If we're excluding things like that, I'd...I dunno. Outside of things that are kinda trite, like preventing genocides and stuff, I don't really want to change anything and actually change it. Which is, I suppose, kinda funny coming from the local don of alternate history.

I wouldn't.

Stop genocides, prevent wars, de-invent "what if?" scenarios.

How the heck would you redirect an asteroid?

Since when is how we do it important? How does anyone do any of this without time travel and a great amount of political influence? If they can do that, I can certainly miracle away an asteroid.

I was with you for the first half of that.

LS hereby reveals that he desires the US to be a police-state. :p

I'd kill Bill Gates after changing his will so that everything gets left to me. If we can't help ourselves, Imma side with Dachs on this. I have no desire to screw with history by violating causality. After all, who wants this?

You know, I once had this dream where I discovered a time machine, and thinking that it would accelerate the development of the human race, I went back in time and gave Aristotle books to some cavemen. When I returned to AD 2007, I had discovered that the human race was cavemen, fighting their tribal wars using extremely decayed Aristotle books as war-clubs.

Have you guessed the name of LightSpectra's planet? IT WAS EARTH

I'll go with something unlikely to have dystopian outcomes, and stop Teila Tuli's teeth from getting stuck in Gerard Gordeau's foot.
