Yeah but wasnt the average life expectancy of an Ottoman ruler about 28 seconds in that time period? To become the Sultan back then was a guarantee that youd die a violent death, sooner rather than later. No, you dont need to be the Sultan to get all the free drugs and the chicks. You just have to be his butler.
