How about everyone that is from CivFanatics that visits that site make thier avatar a fanatic so we can recognize each other? <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/cwm40.gif" border=0>

You know, I kinda wish we did that avatar thing here. I think it would be nice, particularly if it's an option between the default icon (governed by postcount) or a custom one you choose yourself. But as for Apolyton: No way in hell I'm going over there.

Edit: I also wish we had the avatar feature here. I can see why we don't. It takes up a lot of space, I'm sure. But if we did an Apolyton or Gamespy arcade type of system, it should be ok. For example: On Gamespy once you reach 201 posts you get a custom avatar. Otherwise you have to choose from 30 standard ones.
At Apolyton after 500 posts or 1 year of being registered you can select your own custom avatar.

I think we should have it....but it's up to TF.

I do use the same name.

I was talking about it would be an easy recognition that says we are from CivFanatics, kinda like a flag or something.

Speaking of fanatics, i have become just the opposite. I visit this site far less regualrly, and i havent played civ in months!!!

But, custom avatars would be great. I seem to be in the minority not liking the stupid archers, phalanx(es?), knights, etc.

The color scheme bugs me. Knights and archers are essentially the same at a glance. Phalanxs and Musketeers are good, though.

After going over to Apolyton and registering my name and so on and so forth, I have to say that they don't have the stuff I really like in a Forum. Although here at CFC we are small and modest, I know that we are going to keep growing larger and larger with quality members, instead of a big quantity of members.

On another note, I have talked to ThunderFall about adding some things to our forum, and he believes that if we went to a vBulletin forum that everyone would think we are COPYING them. I think this is nonsense, I like the vBulletin forums better, because they ARE. And I don't even think about Apolyton, much less care about what they do, but I do care about our comminuty and believe me when I say that the future of our community largely depends on our willingness to expand our horizons and become a unique site as a whole.
