Government: Corporate Totalitarian State - The entire planet is one big factory and all of it's citizens are workers. The Corporation does not allow any freedom at all and it's secret police polices every aspect of the citizens' lives and occasionally makes sure that dissidents 'disappear'.
Corporation's Big Boss: Alexander Iwao

29 years old, quite rich and ambitious, he managed to become the Big Boss thanks to a combination of bribes, investments and gangster tactics. As Big Boss, he has reinforced the Corporation's authority and essentially established a totalitarian dictatorship.

History:

A project made by the descendants of Japanese colonists who had become rich businessmen, the Kyushu Corporation was established on V2, renamed Kyushu. The businessmen wanted to use the planet's resources and the colonists they brought to enrich themselves and make their Corporation the richest in the galaxy. What they had not expected was the fact that the son of one of them, Alexander Iwao, after inheriting his father's fortune would get rid of them and climb his way to the top. Making use of his father's fortune to bribe and bringing convicted thugs to the planet and using them as his own 'Police', Alexander either killed or bribed the businessmen into submission and gained complete control of the company.

Description of government: Confederal democratic republic - a hierarchy of commune and regional elected assemblies, their powers well-defined, is topped by the Rotsaphea (រដ្ឋសភ&#6070 [national assembly]
Active participation in government is seen as a citizen's duty, much like jury duty in 21st century America or military service in some other countries, and as such most ordinary members of the Garden will find themselves running for one of these assemblies at least once some time in his or her life.

A short historical biography: Suon's origins lie in a pair of Tibetan Buddhist monks, Tenzin and Norbu, who were searching for the 26th reincarnation of the Dalai Lama. It was then that Earth fell. With this chaotic backdrop, the monks took to the stars, and after some misadventures, came aboard a vessel crewed by Cambodian and Vietnamese refugees. It was from the philosophical discussions on board this vessel that the idea for the Garden was born - a place where humanity and nature could live in harmony, each improving the condition of the other, while providing all humans a refuge for true liberation. They found a picturesque, lush, green world, and set up ground there. Taking in refugees from across the Buddhist world, the inhabitants of the Garden set about building their new world.

• A Feudal system with technology concentrated in the hands of the Lords. An Updated Feudal Contract where, in addition to protection from outsiders, Lords must also wisely doll out the gifts of technology: Medicine, Meteorology, etc.
• Amur Klorin, on Once-Earth, was a cult leader with great following, preaching that, though technology would solve many ills, it would also cause many more. He preached that technology remain in the hands of the few, who would take the burden of it's dangers on themselves and doll out it's rewards to those in need. The rest, those without technology in hand, would live the worthiest of lives, as our ancestors had, tilling the land and crafting goods by hand. When earth was abandoned, the Klorin imposed this system of belief on all the inhabitants of Aurora, with feudal lords having access to high technology, and doling it's rewards out to their serfs, who work the land and craft goods.

Government: Brief: Federal Parliamentary Elective-Monarchy
(Whole lotta) Detail: A current 3 tier system designed to be democratic and fair when the constituent parts are commonly out of contact with each other. The first-tier is the fairly powerful Head of State*, who is elected until death, abdication or popular vote to remove from office, along with the Pilgrimage Parliament. Voting is performed through sealed votes, which a Pilgrim can register and fill out at any time, so their latest vote can be counted if they are out of contact during an election. Second and third tier are the system (currently inactive) and planetary levels, led by parliaments, with systems in place for a large enough fleet to register as a planet in their home system. Third tier are individual riding’s, both those on crossroads and individual ships, which are direct-democracies lead by a Captain, who holds authoritative rights during emergencies.
