Yes, what you say is true, but it is something of a moot point, as the King of the Rhine appears to be a river-sovereignty-obsessed lunatic. As we said, there is no point in free trade along a river if one state along the river cannot see the difference between an amphibious invasion and a trade agreement.

Austria believes that the territorial integrity of all German states should be upheld and this obviously includes the tiny state of Baden as well. Austria will protect Baden if need be.
Austria also wishes to extend duty-free trade with Bavaria upon the Austrian and Bavarian portions of the Danube. However, this agreement would only apply to the Duchy of Austria portion of the Austrian Empire. All portions of Austria that were not within the Holy Roman Empire at one time would be not be included.

I do not refer to any specific nation. The Empire that once kept our nations aligned no longer exists, and has left us with a power vacuum. Any nation may want to take advantage of this, as such I must make alliances to protect my kingdom. If you want to know if I see you as a possible threat to my kingdom, then remember you promised military support for Baden if they are invaded. I see this as a possible threat because the only way for your armies to reach Baden from Bavaria, is if they first march through Wurttemberg.
So we must ask that you do sign a non-aggression pact, as to make sure my kingdom will be free of foreign domination.
