GEAR can turn anything into a modern self-sustainable metropolis in less than a year.

This claim is highly dubious, unless buildings are constructed from prefabricated modules, where it would still take 6-7 months to set up one modern building.

We have building material and we have highly-motivated workforce.
Having a dozen thousand people work for good pay can give good results, you know.

Since the 20th century, Chinese and , really, any Asian workers, were known for building and repairing stuff in record-breaking times. Of course, the payment was lower back then, and so were the numbers. But GEAR is no longer thinking small-scale. And as mentioned before, thermally-secured shelters and modules are being constructed on an industrial scale and lots of them are ready for deployment in the vastness of Siberia.

You don't have to justify your powergaming to anybody but the GM, so don't worry.

Spoiler :
1. The diplomats of the Republic highly suggest that their Oceanian counterparts look up the definitions of the words "oratory" and "sophism".

2. Oceania is, seemingly, the only nation in the world today who continues to implant harsh and false statements in their diplomacy nowadays. It is most unwise to accuse the glorious Republic of sinning in the same capacity.

3. Apparently Oceania, as shown in the past, seems to see the historied world as a tabula rasa for their so-called 'colonial' might to stomp across. We can assure you that that is false.

4. The concept of Oceania itself was created as a catch-all term for all the various distinct islander peoples by the colonial powers of Europe who could not be bothered to distinguish each individual one, approximately three-hundred years ago. Curious, however, that the Oceanian peoples do not seem to know this. No doubt is this due to the Oceanian tyranny's ruthless state control over their education system, if it can be called such.

5. Since when did the Greater East Asian Republic ever claim any pretext of ethnic homogeneity? At least the Republic fully admits and embraces its ethnic diversity, something that Oceania seems unwilling to admit. You may comment on other nations' ethnic 'troubles' when you stop needing a translator between your Hawaiʻian dictator and his Nauruan people.

6. "The GEAR insult us, treat us like we were a puny nation that has no rights to expand to blank territories."

Well the Republic is pleased that at least some portion of our diplomacy seems to have reached Oceania. Congratulations.

7. It is amusing that Oceania seems to think its own military grandeur even half as great as that of the Greater East Asian Republic. Terribly amusing that the petty, outdated Oceanian navy seeks to imitate the glorious prowess of that of the Greater East Asian Republic.

8. Apparently, it seems as though Oceania has stolen various works of art and history from the former nations of the Greater East Asian Republic? There is no other reason why there would be Asian artwork in Nauru, given the fact that the nations of East Asia were unperturbed by the sort of disaster and misfortuned which the western nations suffered.

9: If Oceania is willing to continue its path to war against not only the Greater East Asian Republic, but also other nations in the world as well, the Republic has nothing more to say to Oceania, nor will the Republic be heeding any more of Oceania's drivel.

Good day.

Sorry for the people that have to bear this arrogant rambling by these new wannabe world dominators. :shake:
Spoiler :

1: Maybe you can enlighten us on what you consider are these words, because your understanding of them clearly deviates on what the dictionary tells us.
2: When I said you lied, I said on what you lied, bringing evidence. Now you try to say that we are the ones who try to lie, without saying anything on where and when. Cease your futile and pathetic attempts on sabotaging our reputation.
3: IDIOT, YOU LIE AGAIN!! Let's see the very first paragraph of this thread:
"As the last century drew to a close population collapse, global war and other such things caused governments to crumble and fall. The face of the earth is a blank map for you to draw your nation. Let it be known that the way will not be easy and only by talking, agreements and cooperation can the world survive and fend of the prospect of collapse once again. "
4: You lie once again! First of all, each island in our kingdom controls its own educational system. Second,

How dare you to say that Oceania was an european invention and that our historical ancestors had no relationship whatsoever?

5: Having clarified once again the quasi-homogeneity of our culture in our culture, let me remind you that the name Kamehameha of our king was indeed given to him in honor to the king that in the XIXth century unified Hawaii, but that name was given to him because it was foretold that he would be destined to do great things. He is the son of the Nauruan president at the time of the great war. And the official language in our kingdom is the Fijian, as I clarified some days ago, mainly for practical reasons.

6: The new GEAR country not only recognizes but also boasts in its new bullish and disturber of the peace condition. Congratulations on bringing back what nobody wants.

7: Outdated navy? Ours is most prime navy in the world, if not of the best. Our shipyards cover the 30 km long coastline of Nauru, built with the money mainly of the artistic treasures held in our storages during 50 years. Stop lying again. Besides, the dream of every citizen in our land is to have a boat (as opposed to having a car), so our navy, both militaristically, commercially, etc. is counted on no less than 1,5 million boats of different sizes, given our population of 6 million inhabitants.

8: Stolen? ANOTHER LIE! Do I have to tell again the story about how all this art came into our hands, the reason why the Oceanic Kingdom is rich? Here
Also, how can you say that East Asia was unperturbed by the great world war, when it had a central role? Another lie.

9: You and only you are desiring a path of war against us. Our path is that from negotiations. We even drew a new map that took time, and you have blatantly ignored it.

I have once again discarded all you puny arguments. Will you ignore me, try to mock at me because you don't have anything to respond to my truths, or finally sit on the table?

Spoiler :
The GEAR can do way better than you.
Firstly, we pay people to move in there to even out the population and start using Siberia's natural resources to our advantage.
Secondly, we're sending tons of money and investors in the area. I doubt that your nation can do anything similar to this.
Thirdly, economics and infrastructure are the thing that we're known for. GEAR can turn anything into a modern self-sustainable metropolis in less than a year.

Also, don't forget that there's an unidentified missile heading towards your capital. Out of goodwill, we sent a counter-missile to get it. If it catches up, you'll see fireworks. If it doesn't , you'll get hit by two missiles.

Spoiler :
I agree with Civ'ed on that the time is highly dubious. To begin with, the only infrastructure that eastern Siberia has is the now disappeared 'Road of the Bones', so building roads comes before anything else, and a road that goes from Manchuria to Anadyr takes some time to build. Second, you cannot build almost anything on winter, with temperatures of -40º C, nor in Spring where everything turns into a boggy and muddy barren land caused by the melting of all the snow.
I do agree with you in that, In Time, you are much more able to build things than us.
But as I said, I only want some outposts in the coastline, not the entire province. This is why I drew the second map, which you should at least comment on.
Also, quit this stupid missile thing story. My only conflict existing is with you, and someone launching a missile in the very moment you say someone should launch it is idiotic at least. Furthermore, any missile, bomb etc. directed towards us would be stopped with ease by one our 240 automatic anti-missile defenses installed by the NATO in the 2050s, when military technology was at its peak.

Just to clarify matters, here is a map of Thai expansion:

The orange color is the land which is vital for Thailand and shall be annexed, while the green color is land claimed by Australia, but which Thailand considers as it's rightful territory.

Ahem, I can perhaps offer a compromise.

See the area you want me to get rid of, it has a total of 11 provinces in both India and Bangladesh. Since China has expressed concerns over my claiming of Nepal and the very most northern province, how about we make a compromise.

I leave Nepal and the Very most northern province in India to whoever wants them.

In addition I take the area i claim that is part of India. You take the rest of Bangladesh as illustrated by the map below:

ICZXUJI.png

it leaves us both with 5 provinces from the contested region.

We can accept this agreement.

It has come to my attention that the minor islands off Japan have already been claimed. These claims are dropped.

The Asian Road

The Padishahbanu of Persia, Anahita Tehrani, hereby invites the UAR, The Roman Empire, Bulgaria, Greece, Armenia, Australia, Thailand and the GEAR to participate in a project to connect the world once again. It will be a set of highways and railways that will be something like this:

Spoiler :
aAUeinY.png

Everyone who wants to pass cargo from either nation with these set of roads will be free to do so but will be revised if required.

What do you think of this proposal?

Emperor Theodoros Komnenos accepts the proposal. it sounds like an interesting concept that could be extended further to Europe.

Australia accepts and encourages the road to go through Australian Bengal.

Given that the Australian and Thai agreement gives Thailand 90% of Bengal, the christening of "Australian Bengal" is most curious.

i don't have a better name :(

What do you think of this proposal?

A fantastic idea. What would you say if Germany joined the project and the system was extended farther and the road connected to the Autobahn highway system? Imagine the economic benefits of a transit system stretching from Hong Kong to Denmark!

(I can make a map once I figure out what exactly is going to happen in Germany during the five year gulf.)

Thailand accepts the idea of such a road.

GM approval of most current claims. Some still under review.
Approval of the Cape to Cairo project.

A reminder for activity in India:

The corrosive and highly toxic gases that cover the east coast do not make colonisation or transportation easy. It may be easier if The Asian Road were to go through the Himalayas (I kid not) as that would be infinatly cheaper than the measures that would be necessary to ensure safety along in India.
