It appears Rhodesia has not understanding of basic diplomacy. Your a democracy yes? Then the people and government are both responsible, for Plato dictated that a bad tyranny was better than a bad dictatorship since a bad tyranny you can have the blame on one person where it is the many who are the blame in a bad democracy.

The destroyers of the embassy and the fellow protestors would do for the reconstruction labourers. We will release all but the criminals after the embassy is completed; the criminals will then we sent to the Platonic Republic where they will labour to the end of their days as punishment.

I would suggest you do not demolise our embassy; it is Platonic property and damaging our property is akin to moving troops across our borders to attack us.

In the end our investigator will arrive and you will have to be humble in regard to your betters.

As for the threat; it was a jester to comment on your gun threats towards our Governing Caste member. Sadly we forgot your lack of wisdom and hence you (like the eye) blindly follows everything it sees...

In the end our investigator will arrive and you will have to be humble in regard to your betters.

that, is an offensive remark. the Emperor would like to remind you that we are all equals. no one is better than the other.

There are betters though, especially humoured as we are answering one who calls himself the Emperor of Rome.

But we are allies and our Caste System focuses on the soul, not birth or wealth. Still if you meant Rhodesia versus the Platonic Republic then keep in mind that Rhodesia's actions are not helping disprove our claimants. Never the less we agree that our own statement went... out of hand and will ask the Emperor to sent us some Turkish coffee in return for some Greek wine so that the Governing Caste may remove the ills in thought with the coffee. In the end we are not trying to provoke a conflict, just merely telling Rhodesia that what its peoples damage must be repaired by their people. It is a case of justice.

regardless of criminality, you have no rights to enslave any Rhodesian citizen.
we aren't going to send an entire part of Salisbury to rebuild your embassy without pay.
While the government will attempt to ensure your emissary's security but we cannot guarantee that parts of our citizenry will listen.
OOC: and apparently in IOT-land everybody blindly follows their leader. This is what I get for having dissenting opinions within my own nation I guess :p

I may be the Emperor of Rome. but, we know how history. our unlimited arrogance led to our downfall in 1204. that shall not happen again, and we fully admit that some nations are more powerful than us.

sure, we will send you some Roman Coffee.

Joint Military Exercise of the Sryian Arab Army and the Byzantine armed forces

Link to video.

Staged on the island of Cyprus, and in the territorial waters of the UAR the exercise focused on a joint assault on a fortified island as well as the removal of terrorist elements in an urban environment. Considering the recent tragedy in the Gulf of Tonkin, the UAR decided its troops would need better preparation for operating on water and in the skies. President Assad himself was present at the exercise with the Republican Guard, the elite unit of the UAR. The exercise proved to be a major success as the Byzantine and Arab forces coordinated with ease and managed to achieve the objectives in a relatively short time. After the exercise a joint military parade was hosted in Latakia in which ministers from both governments attended and foreign dignitaries came.

Those who damaged the embassy committed a crime within Platonic grounds (the Embassy grounds) and hence should pay the price of committing a crime in Platonic grounds. Our laws dictate slavery as a punishment for crimes like arson. We are asking merely the criminals plus the protestors who had collective responsibility for not stopping the crime occur.

OOC: Plato was quite critical of democracy, hence why I am posing the Platonic response in such rhetoric. Plato did actually suggest what the Platonic Republic was saying on bad democracy vs. bad tyranny. Hence it is not a "IOTland" thing but rather trying to play out the Platonic fundamentalism.

For your nation's benefit though it so happens many also blame Plato for purposing a totalitarianism society...

sure, we will send you some Roman Coffee.

OOC: Turkish coffee I was referring too, not Roman coffee... ;)

Reminds me... would Japan object to us sending a member of the Warrior Caste to interview their troops in Vietnam? We need to get the UN investigation going and courage is the virtue of the soldier, so Raptis will possibly give Titus Christos a job change from "chief bodyguard" to "warrior interviewing warriors." Accept?

We object. We will only allow the UN to send inspectors, since, because of your alliance with UAR, your inspectors may be biased.

the Emperor is pleased that the military exercise went better than expected. we hope that the UAR gained valuable experience in all this.

Then may we suggest a Rhodesian soldier accoumply Titus Christos? Yes we are allies of the UAR but a UAR spokesperson sent us this...

Your expansion into Libya has proven unfruitful for the Arab people in Benghazi. The Platonic republic must realize that Benghazi and the rest of Libya are sacred Arab ground. We do not wish to get into a conflict, but you must realize its proximity to the home territory and its value to us. We only ask for Libya and we do not question any claims elsewhere, I hope that you understand.

In which we responded...

To our Arabian allies.

Libya will not be threatened under our flag. We secure Libya for oil justice. The Platonic Republic, the most just society, will adopt the persons of Libya into our society, which they will find harmony in our castes.

We had, since Oussama Mihayshi from Benghazi become one of our founders, eyed Libya as we had eyed Greece. It is our interest to secure Libya for our further efforts to export the Platonic Republic. The oil people will aid us in the long run in ensuring we reach as far as possible, plus the people and oil will help our efforts in Vietnam, which are to your interests.

I would hence heed that you agree to, as to say, of Qur'an, 24:22. By Plato I would recommend you overlook our continued efforts to make the Platonic Republic two sides of a sea. In the end this will pay off well. No need to violence for we will assimilate the populace to be harmony with our great vision, while trouble makers can be exercise their ways to forgiveness via slavery "by giving what they can for all three castes." Peace is benefiting to both of us, as Libya will in the end be in justice's palms.

May your intelligence ever be married to justice to forge wisdom.

Takis Papadakis of the Governing Caste

...and publicly the same speaker we spoke to set...

All the UAR has to say is that we simply cannot accept your expansion into Benghazi. It is against the vital interests of the Arab people and the UAR government. We wish to negotiate something with you, but in such Benghazi must be left for the UAR.

Benghazi is a city in the Platonic Republic... hence not able to carry out...

We are hence qualified to be neutral on the Japanese matter...

unfortunately we cannot extradite the criminal if he is to be sentenced to lifelong slavery. We would be willing to agree to several years hard labor.
as for other protesters, they have other things on their mind than preventing other crimes. other property was also damaged in the area, but we're not punishing the embassy arsonists for not stopping those crimes.

But the criminal burned our embassy and threatened the lives of its workers!

We would be willing to agree to several years hard labor.

We are open to discussion on punishment for diplomatic dealing...

Then with our Governing Caste member to come we can investigate such considerations and work together for better relations.

Slavery has left a... bitter taste in Rhodesian memory, this would only make it worse.

any form of hard labor that isn't permanent is welcome by us. Remember the criminal may also have a family to feed...

Then with our Governing Caste member to come we can investigate such considerations and work together for better relations.
This will certainly be done, or at least attempted.

Good... we will set a special international judiciary over the matter? It would be good to do a special diplomatic incident, which will allow both members of our judiciary for great justice.

Then Barbara Comis will have a lesson in Rhodian judicial customs for great justice. :)

From: Texarkana

As stated, the Texarkana Mayornate will be sending a small number of troops to South Vietnam to act in an advisory role and help in the establishment of a stable post-war democracy in that country.

Secondly, Texarkana will not be attending the Olympics in Athens in protest of the government's use of slavery. Legislation is going through the Congress of Texarkana increasing tariffs on goods produced in Greece to counteract the gross savings accrued from their use of unfree labor.

Texarkana is a country that believes strongly in equality and social mobility. Slavery is the symptom of an inferior social system that, of course, uses a caste system. In Texarkana, no man or woman is considered inherently better because of his or her position in society.

Finally, we are selling lucrative shipbuilding contracts to several French companies. We hope this brings Texark and French industries closer and, more importantly, bring our governments together.
