I think we should be careful about dismissing Tibetan cultural traditions and way of life from a decidedly western point of view....
I would try to explain...but I don't think I can convince some of the people here....

Well said. Ethnocentrism tends to prevail, though. People seem to think modern ethics are the best for everyone everywhere, which is ironic, as most also seem to think liberty and autonomy or supreme rights.

I don't know, I think not being allowed to worship your cultural leader is kind of a big deal for a culture.

Why? And even if it is so what? The need to worship will be erased in a few generations.

To my thinking if Tibetans get better economic and social oppurtunity then they are better off. I do not think there not being able to worship someone will cause them any harm. I am also not making any reference to culture. The need to do better and have more access to resources is universal in the sense that it is genetic. No culture references required to draw that conclusion.

Well, I suppose it depends on what you call "better". Personnally, spiritual fulfillment and freedom mean a lot more to me than economics social opportunity.

That's because you've never had to face surviving on nothing but empty carbohydrates, wearing rags that haven't been washed in months, living in a leaking dump, trudging on foot for days to get anywhere, and being discriminated and looked down upon by those higher up in the social pecking order.

Russia desire is finally close for the 3 powers alliance.
Russia wanted to form a axis of sorts with China and India.
However this was never possible because of Sino-Indian enimity.
Now it seems close.

If it happens it will be the largest pouplation and economic bloc in the world with the power to challange NATO and the West.

Actually, I doubt Tibetans had more freedom under the rule of Dalai Lama than Communists.
