Information Drought?

I hope they reveal the final civs ASAP, so that the forum (including my own posts here, to my own shame) can go back to discussing aspects of the game which are actually important :p.

If I recall what The J wrote about a year ago, once the final civs are revealed, posting and clicks on the forums drop significantly due to having far less to speculate about. Only the people what care to speculate on comparative mechanics remain. Morocco vs. Portugal for instance.

PS: I had hoped that we wouldn't repeat the Sweden rage thread this year, but things are stacking up for a Venice rage thread instead.

Agreed - however, we're talking five weeks tomorrow before it comes out, so surely at least one of those civs needs to be revealed soon! If the hypercube civ is really "out there" then there'll be plenty of speculation about how that plays out.

I'm hoping that the fact that Venice are all-but-confirmed already means that the Venice rage-bomb has been defused somewhat. We'll probably get a few threads when they're finally confirmed but those will probably get closed since everyone will be sick to death of talking about it by then.

I don't know...

It seems like there is a large portion of the Civ Fanatics population that only drop by this forum when civs are announced in order to disseminate their glorious approval or terrible wrath about whatever has been announced. They haven't been following the forum on a day to day or week to week basis, so they don't know how thoroughly the arguments have been picked through and will repeat the same wrongly informed or poorly thought out talking points that have been flying for months now.

And then we can tell them how wrong they are.:rolleyes:

Yes. Again. For the 10,000th time. It's become quite tedious. And really, why are we bothering to defend it? It's not like it's going to go away if we don't put up an argument in its defense. It will just be a thread (or thirty!) that I don't click on. But it will be annoying having to parse through them to find threads that I want to read.

Speaking for myself only...

I have no problem with Venice as a Civ. There are so many Civs in the game now that it will take years to play them out in BNW.

My problem was with the Venice-ers hijacking every single thread for 2 months straight no matter what the topic was, to announce their new reason for proving Venice was included. To the point where the Devs were saying to knock it off. :goodjob:

Thankfully that has stopped for the most part, so, much less Venice-Rage now from me, for that reason only...

It's not like the Venice defenders were unsolicited. If anyone were to question that Most Serene Republic's authentic civ-ness, it must be defended without relent in any thread in any forum. So if the anti-Venites just knock it off, we can have some peace and quiet.

Your words are too wise, Great Eagle of Pursuit. :king:

Darn 1st world problems :p

What is more of a first world problem? My time-management issues or the people who expound at great length about their opinion of what qualifies to become content in a video game expansion pack when their opinion has no effect on the outcome?

How did the discussion get Venice?

We aren't discussing Venice. We are having a discussion about discussing Venice. Please learn to tell the difference. :D

And then we can tell them how wrong they are.:rolleyes:

You know what that means....

How did the discussion get Venice?

All roads lead to Venice.
