Innovian Succesion Game #2

Come on, some one pick it up. We got 49 days to finish this.

Picked it up, not sure when I'll have time to play

Played it

We've finished Monarchy, and we got Maths, Sailing and Masonry by trade.

We can lightbulb Compass (monopoly), but we should also be able to research Code of Laws(monopoly), and lightbulb Philosophy.

It might be time to increase military production again, to make sure those two nutjobs don't start picking on us.

I usually go for an academy first but in this case holding off for Law so we can lightbulb (Philosophy you say?) then start on Civil service sounds good, those will be good techs to trade and catch us up.

I hate paying unit upkeep but how about settling that coastal city site?

giving our extra clams to Japan might open up tech trades.

Whoa, I didn't realize Civil Service was so far down there. I was thinking of the Oracle/free tech gambit.

1889, are you going to take it now? You should think about MM'ing growth, commerce and Great Scientist points.

I'll play tonight if we don't hear from Theo or Parkin.

Only 46 days left to play :D

Your right, I played just now. How about you and I just tag team with an open invitation for anyone else to pick up the save anytime they can?

Traded extra clams to Japan, but he still wont be cool. Were the same religion too, what do we gotta do?

Traded Law and Philo for Aztecs for Horse rides and Feudalism while researching Monotheism on our own. So take a look at the new civic options.

Just started Lit so we can trade it and build the Heroic Epic. New city about to be settled. And I'm glad to say that I've learned the economic lessons of the MTDG, we are almost as wealthy as our neighbors.

I'm pretty busy at the moment and will continue to be so until around the 27th, so you guys just go ahead and play. :)

Yeah same here, not a lot of time right now. Feel free to continue without me for now, I'll let you know when I'm back. :)

Only 46 days left to play :D
When did we decide on the time limit?

Played

Changed research to Civil Service
Lightbulbed Paper
Now researching Education

We met Gandhi, and we can make this trade. It seems decent and will get us back near the Toku and Monty

Everything is looking fine, but I'm not sure how we're going to win this game. We might have to conquer those to warmongers on our islands, or at least be ready to defend (which we're not at the moment).

Well Japan still wont have anything to do with us so no loss if we declare war on them, but some observations.

Our production is pretty good but we probably need to change techs: Literature for Heroic Epic, Construction for catapults, Engineering for Pikes and +1 move, Machines for crossbow, Optics for Caravel.

We can capture Satsuma but would have a hard time holding Tokyo, Damascus is loosing ground to Aztec culture too.

I'm going to start building roads to the targets also.

Did the tech trade with Ghandi and switched research to Machinery.

Built some plantations and traded Bananas and dye to Monty for Marble and 7 gpt so we can build National Epic in Medina (with the intention of cancelling as soon as we finish it). Which was enjoying one of those rare WLTKDs.

Sent a chariot for a drive throun Aztec lands and every city I saw there or in Japan has like 14 units. Started Guilds after Machinery, maybe build some camels and cats then research caravels. Neither Aztecs or Japanese can build knights or pikes so maybe that is our shot.

Our only problems are our much smaller army size and Damascus is loosing ground culturally. Any way to get Monty and Toku to go at it?

If you want Monty will give us 520 gold for paper.

Could we get Monty to declare on Toku? That might be fun.

Dave gets more time to visit some of the old places... ;)

Dave, I hope it’s okay if I point out that after you made peace with Monty you built two more units and started a third when we were already paying unit support. We can't afford to waste those few gold this early in the game. For my part I couldn't bear to disband such experienced units so I sent them to attack the barb city and hoped for lots of casualties.

Of course it's OK! My play pretty much sucks, and participating in DGs and SGs is my attempt to find out why. :D

I don't remember there being anything else to build (though it was a long time ago), plus we're looking like fresh meat to Toku and Monty.

I might find time to pick up a set, if there are some strategy guidelines posted. As I implied earlier, this is the point in games where I typically implode and lose quickly rather than slowly. :crazyeye:

I don't know if it was possible at that time, but you might have been able to build cash/research

At the moment we should probably build up some military, and keep teching.
