I did clean install of Civ 4 Gold and then BtS. Then I applied newest BtS patch. I then installed FfH ver 2.025, patch L, and media pack into BtS Mod folder. When I go to Load Mod Option at startup, FfH is not displayed as a choice. Therefore I can not play  . What am I doing wrong?

I found that shortcut icon and clicked on it. Got the flashlight icon stating that it was searching for beyondthesword.exe. Then I got an invalid path message. As an aside, I can only access the Mod folder for BtS on my hard drive. Is this out of the ordinary?

It sounds like you installed FfH to the wrong location. When you install there will be a path in the installed. Make sure that path is where your BtS mods are (in the same Directory with FfH Age of Ice, Afterworld, etc).

Pretty sure Gold might have a unique folder location then.

Normal Location is: C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4beyondsword.exe

So if Gold installed somewhere else for you, then you'll have to move your mod to the appropriate folder and edit the shortcut.

When I access the Civ 4 files on my hard drive, the only path I can take is C:/Program Files/Firaxis Games/Civilization 4/Beyond the Sword/Mods. That's it. There are no other files accessible. Furthermore, the only mod that appears in the mod folder is FfH2. If I could, I would move it to whichever folder you suggest, but everything other than the path above is closed off/hidden/not visible. I hope this is helping. I really want to play this mod!

that probably means you've installed civ 4 and BtS in a different location (maibe C:/games, or on another disc (D or E for example). right-click your BtS shortcut on your desktop, and select properties (the bottom one, i've got a dutch version of windows so not exactly sure what it's called in English). There you should see where your normal civ is installed. Simply move hte FfH2 map to the mods location for the BtS folder you've just found, and it should work.

Yes, you should see a LOT of other files and folders in the Civilization 4 Folder. So it means your install of the game went to the wrong/different place.

Check in Firaxis games. There should only be 1 folder there, Civilization 4 (well, unless you have older Civ versions installed).

I suspect you might have a second folder. Probably something like "Civilization 4 Gold" though that is unlikely. If you do, everything needs moved over to there.

Did you install Civ 4 Gold on your C drive, or another drive?

Right click on the shortcut you use to launch BtS, since you have obviously managed to actually launch the game. Select Properties, then click on the Find Target button. This will show you where you actually installed your game to.

Then, just open the Mods folder in the directory with the .exe, and move FfH II 2 025 folder from the location you have already found it into this proper mods folder. Then edit the shortcut to match the new location.

This is the path on my drive:
C:/Program Files/Firaxis Games/Civilization 4/Beyond the Sword/Mods.
So the beyond the sword folder is already in the Civ 4 folder. I right clicked on the shortcut icons. The start paths for both Civ 4 (Gold) is C:\Documents and Settings\William Conway\Application Data\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Gold. The BtS path is C:\Documents and Settings\William Conway\Application Data\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Gold\Beyond the Sword.

Is this helping?!

Yes. Go to C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods and move the folder Fall from Heaven 2 025 to C:\Documents and Settings\William Conway\Application Data\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Gold\Beyond the Sword\Mods.

Now, go into the Fall from Heaven 2 025 folder, find the shortcut, right click and select Properties. Now, paste this line in for the Target:

"C:\Documents and Settings\William Conway\Application Data\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Gold\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" mod=\Fall from Heaven 2 025

However, if you are willing to sit through a re-installation of Civ 4, BtS AND Fall From Heaven (including all patches), you might want to install it in the "proper" location so that all future patches go to the correct location by default. (sounds like you installed it "For only this user" instead of "For all users on this computer")

I think I solved the problem. I noticed that the last path I gave you included the Application data folder. This folder for some reason was not visible (no icon for it). I typed in the path manually and i got to the folder. I copied the FfH mod into that folder and it appears the mod is loading properly now. I'll post here again if it ends up not working. Thanks a lot guys!
