Instant Karma 3 civ/player, no AI

Alas, a semi-fair & semi-realistic Peace treaty has been hammered out among the 3 warring groups of the east. The Arab-Byz-Port Brotherhood has committed to replacing settler & worker to the Amer-Mali-Sum alliance.
The leader of the Fran-Celt-Vik terror group has made a similar reconciliation.

The duration has not been fully ratified, but unless there arises an extreme situation... Peace should reign a thousand years(!?).

While peace has returned on one side of the world, war has broken out on another. ReallyEvilMuffin has declared war on me and now assaults the Holy Roman Empire!

Its not looking great for the Holy Roman Empire, although you have optics already?! You must have had it a good 20 turns too with harbours in all your cities. I can't allow that tech rate to continue with the GLH, especially considering at turn 130 you have about 10 units to cover your three cities there, and in the future your only route to the mainland is through me...

Greetings all!
Visiting and reading your thread, nice speedy start.
I was pointed here to learn more about "Team Game" mechanics, I'm familiar but I'd bet there are things I didn't know, (one example, Imp K mentioned early on was Wonder effect across your team, I certainly didn't know that), well I'm on page #5 now hope to find more details soon. Or could some be real nice and give me a pointer :) thanks

* qiky = However, Golden Ages only only affect a single civ. :(

Which begs the Q... What happens when the Taj M gets bilt?

Nothing special, only the civ that builds it gets a golden age. Things like diplo states eg war/peace/open borders have to be the same for all team members with other teams. Most things are pooled, but resources are still owned by a single civ.

You can also use your workers to build anything you like on your allies land! If cities would share tiles between allies the rules get a little more confusing...

Game is rolling again! Less than an hour turnaround too

There were some pretty close fights out in the west this turn, but the valiant Holy Roman defenders were no match for the massed forces of the spanish/aztec alliance. Jaguars rushing in from the jungles, horse archers firing away and some lumbering cataphants in the background who were too slow to make it to the fight. We were just too jealous of your Great Lighthouse.

I have to ask Methinkso though why did you not upgrade all your units? Did you not expect me to hit that turn?

Also sorry my fight reports aren't as glitzy as Imps, I'm not used to all this extended writing war reports. They do make the game more interesting though. They will hopefully get better in future!

...

I totally spaced on that. Oops. Not sure if I had the treasury for it either way.

This attack was inevitable though. The Holy Roman Empire is isolated from China and Zulu with no way for the others to reinforce him until I unlock ocean-faring (hence my attempt to rush to optics and beyond) so there's no way I could see myself surviving a full force attack like this. I'm just surprised ZHR didn't do it himself earlier in the game before you took over, REM.

Yeah you were screwed on the land generation front there a little, although you did make it a juicy target too with the lighthouse! A push to feudalism might have been better though perhaps, protective longbows would have made that attack a headache and I would have needed to wait for the slow stack probably.

I did prioritize it though when I took over. I have over 70 turns of whipping anger in a few of my Spanish cities now, but also a lot of units left over to military police them as well. Snuck them past that warrior you had on sentry too :P

Sorry I meant promotions not upgrades. Quite a few of your fortified units had unused promotions is what I meant, I do get that you might not have been able to spend money to upgrade the warriors!

You interested in a state of the empire look bath? I don't mind sharing a save with you if you wish.

Nah just forgetful. I thought you were trying to entice me to waste units and attack. I was unsure how successful it would be with them in there anyway but I felt it was worth trying for when I found I had odds on archers in flat cities. Especially so as it would prevent further metal units in the other cities and net me my goal sooner.

Hmmmm, so what is the reason for this war again? Mayhaps I could arbitrate a peaceful settlement as neutral negotiator? I want methinkso as counter to KenWyn and ReallyEvilMuffin as counter to Michkov, you two fighting each other is really something I want to avoid from a purely egoistical point of view.

Or is it... strikes again?

So what were the terms? Share with all if truly desire world peace. :scan:

Oh I had nothing to do with it, after I realized that methinkso is nowhere near you but ReallyEvilMuffing on the other hand squeezed right between you and Michkov I wished my newly gained best ally good luck on the hunt.

There were actually no terms at all, and no arbitration. I sent a message to methinkso pointing out there was limited point in continuing the war as neither of us could do anything to the other now until astro. So it was essentially an 'I know you're gonna attack me for revenge with astro, but we might as well be at peace until then' deal.

Behold, New Timbuktu!

Spoiler Behold it I say! :

I considered gifting it to Hercules, but since KenWyn is such a stick in the mud about city gifting he will just have to settle around me now I guess.

You might also notice that it is located right next to three city ruins, but maybe fourth time's the charm.

Christianity has been founded, in a completely useless hill city of course. Seriously, like half of my cities are on rivers and surrounded by cottages and the holy city algorithm picks one of the two spots that aren't good for anything but production?

 Oh I'm sure it would.

Herc of Amerika, your settler has been delivered. Our commitment & Peace deal is complete. :wavey:

It is nice to have the world at Peace... at least for a while.
