There is a fault in the multi unit full plug in with a missing swordsman unit so it crashes the game. I can't remember what it took to fix that (I tried doing an overlay of a previously working file - no go).

I had the absolute worst time trying to re install Civ III so I am not willing to give up the game for the multis... but they sure were nice to use.

I recall using artillery and the crusader: I also used the 'honor guard' of archaic troops in Berlin to take them out, just for laughs. My preference was the heavy bombers, though....they had lethal land bombardment, so I used them to take out most invasions headed my way.

And there were a LOT of invasions. No-one liked me in that game!

There were a few dozen more under the fog of war. The heavy bombers got those.

Depends what level your on. On chieftain you would have a pretty could chance of survival.

I have seen some much worse stacks than that. Though it might do you well to switch that temple build.

Well, I founded another city without a spearman. When I did that, I had 838 gold.

Now I have 172.

Best bet is to spend as much gold as you can. If you have <10g and an open Pop 1 city for the Barbs to attack... bargain!

I never play with Barbarians set above roaming (and never above restless) for that reason.

Ive had worse than that. For 5 minutes straight, a horde barbarians attacked on of me cities. On Deity level.

What really hurts is when you ignore them and they pillage half the roads in your empire.

That is why I don't play with busy barbs.

Look on the bright side- the Green dudes are probably going to absorb a bunch of the barbs for you.

Most likely all of them. Barbarians don't care who they're attacking, as long as they're fighting.

Must...kill...blood...guts...
