Interesting Screenshots

It's probably a mod, and he just edited himself to start with Space Flight, and gave himself an SGL to rush the Apollo Program with. I can't think of any other reason to have cities that underdeveloped, or any other reason there are a bunch of unfortified Regular Defensive units sitting in all of his cities. It would also explain the city names, which are indicative of either being pre-placed or an extremely absurd settling pattern, due to the order of the American city list.

another quick point i noticed- the minimap. there are empty spots and many cities with unexpanded borders in the modern age, which is peculiar.

The culture and emptiness could easily be explained by war- I hardly ever see the AI build culture in recently captured cities- but that's unlikely.

Playing a AW on either pan or continents and keep making contacts. Here I have 22 and I have probably not seen half my continent. There are 31 civs on a 180x180.

I figured that would get me in lots of fights and it has done that.

vmxa, you are a glutton for punishment:eek:

After a few games using the CCM mod, I just wanted to weild some armies. I knew leaders would be a snap, but you have to get towns up to convert to armies. Somewhere around the 9th army, I tend to get things under some control.

15 armies now, so steam rolling and eliminated 3 civs, with no news making contact. Where is SGFN6, it is not in your sig?

SGFN 06 was abandoned, it was damaged beyond the teams hope by inexperience (go figure).

A better question is where 8 is?

Lost somewhere in between Apathy and Disinterest...

Moderator Action: Let's have more screenshots and less discussion.

I'd never seen an AI civ refuse a city before. I think it happened twice in this game (same tribe). Strangely enough, they attacked me two or three turns later, so I really can't imagine why they refused it.

So it does happen! Confirms that I did not just see things when this happened to me. (The only thing that I know is that in some game I had a flip message (which I didn't read all that closely) and yet somehow retained control over the city in question.)

Strangely enough, they attacked me two or three turns later, so I really can't imagine why they refused it.

From the map it looks like this was some kind of wild brawl. :p

I've played quite a bit of Civ, but I've never had that either!
BTW, CKS, I can only see your pic properly when I save it and then open it with some program that can enlarge it, as it's too small in its current form.
I normally use Irfanview, which is freeware, to capture and edit a pic to a suitable size, then upload it to Photobucket - Imageshack is the same kind of thing, in both cases you need to create an account first, which is also free - and then link to that picture here.
I don't think Photobucket or Imageshack are always necessary to use, but to crop your pic with something like Irfanview could have done a nice job here.

Is it just me, or does the profile in the upper left corner seem familiar?

Hmm I think the Russian graph gets the nose a bit better than the Byzantine one.
