Not without Rocketry he wasn't.

I had to attack France to obtain a source of iron and a source of saltpeter. You can see I have MDIs in my attack: that's because after I seized Tours, the French counteroffensive seemed to disappear, so I was able to build up a little army to take on the gates of Paris. While I hesitate to use the word ironic, there's something sad about the fact that the reason Paris is about to fall is that it is too busy building Sun Tzu's to train troops against me.

Last week's game:

I found out where Jean-Luc Picard is from!

as you see, i have a stack just outside Medina, ready to take over the city. Those 10 arab units could have moved in Medina and garrisoned the city... and they would have been enough to foil my attack. But the AS had a better idea: move that stack one tile away and leave Medina short of defenders, so my troops could take it over without much hassle. Thank you, Abu :D

I had that happen to me once: I had been gathering a stack of death on a Mountain tile that was the only tile connecting a little peninsula to the continent. On the peninsula lay Rome, my (Carthage's) enemy. After a few more offensive units made it to the front, I ordered the troops into the peninsula, onto another mountain tile right next to the city. Rome decided that since the path was clear, it should use its troops to launch an invasion of the continent rather than attacking my stack. Their formidable army had moved a tile away from the city when I attacked its greatly diminished garrison, defeated Rome, and sent them into limbo.

I've had three Mursili once on a future era start. That number went down once I got Oil and Rubber.

I guess the Byzantines decided that two of them was better than one of them.
