Not really weird. I have units with more then one extra hitpoint (Dreadnought, Starfortress and others) and they allways went one up when promoted.I gave Elephant units a +1 health point, but I thought they just stop at 5 too. Weird.
I never noticed that units with +1 HP go to 6...Not really weird. I have units with more then one extra hitpoint (Dreadnought, Starfortress and others) and they allways went one up when promoted.
Have you never build Statue of Zeus?![]()
What makes it even stranger: when I try to name a city with a name that already exists elsewhere on the map, the game won't let me! A city name needs to be unique?!?

And don't India's War Elephants have +1 HP in the base C3C anyway?
they do, but I never noticed that they go to 6 like a Spinal Tap amplifier.
I think Conquests does have it, but only in the base game- it disappears in scenarios.

Correct, unless you are playing a multiplayer scenario IIRC.
I don't care for sherry, one cannot drink stout,This isn't so much interesting as slightly punny: I opened the Age of Discovery conquest (playing as Spain) by taking Portugal. RIGHT after I took Madeira, the English demanded wines.
At least they have good taste.Perhaps I can satisfy them with port...

Update on my crappy Vikings start: I managed to join a war against Korea, captured a city with Iron, and somehow got the city with The Great Library in it as part of the peace deal (in all fairness, it was like size 3 and Korea was in the Industrial Age by this point, not like it could have helped them), catapulting me into parity with the tech leaders, France and Korea- I'm now at the early IA. I'm still tiny and poor, have no real research or productive capability to speak of, and it turns out I don't have Saltpeter either, but the last problem is solvable- the 2-city Persians have Saltpeter in one of their remaining cities, and I intend to liberate it as soon as I can get some Berzerks up there to pay a friendly visit.
Still not looking good for me, but looks better for me than it looked before.
You know what a pain a bunch of Medieval Infantry can be? They attack with 4. Berserkers attack with 6 (same as Cavalry!)How effective are Berserks?

They are by far the best attackers of their age and are available early in the middle ages when almost everyone is defending with Pikemen.
And they are amphibious, and the added kick is that the Vikings are Militaristic (and Seafaring).
So yeah, if the Vikings are developed coming into the Middle ages, they are a serious force with the Berserker.
