Interesting Screenshots

Taras – I bombed the continent so that the Mongols and English (non-industrious democracies) would spend their time rebuilding, not me... althought both have replacable parts.

Not something you see every day... check out the tile 2SE of the city (Valencia) in this shot:

It seems the Ocean tile is getting a river bonus...

It's a coast tile but correct... it's also on the corner of a river :crazyeye:

Look here: I'm Scandinavia. I've got Norwich, it's the only town I've got on this continent. Then there's the Iroquois, they're huuuge on this continent. They can easily take Norwich if they want, but look what Spain is doing! Whoever wants to attack Norwich, has to take on those Spanish Spearmen first! It's like Spain is protecting me.
Explanation: I was in an alliance with Spain against England before I took Norwich. When I took Norwich those Spanish Spearmen were already there; no doubt Isabella was bothering Elisabeth with them. The Spearmen have since remained. Still, I wouldn't dream of asking Isabella to remove them; it's the perfect protection for Norwich! (and yes, I should replace those Berserks with some proper defensive units).

Do you have NoAIPatrol set to 1? That'll cause units to stay put, for example when peace breaks out.

Interesting civ colours, did you mod that yourself or is it just a freak of your game?

I don't know if this is much of a empire but, for me on monarch level it is. Took screenshot due bug what happens if galley is last defender in city (loaded?) next turn nice looking longbow was there, waiting my army to kick 'em.

Btw for me a great glory and honor was to keep clean reputation for so long!

NoAIpatrol? On which page can I find this setting? I don't know anything about this, so I can't have meddled with. I did read something about this setting with regards to Barbarian behaviour. The English are now destroyed, by the way. I had expected Norwich to be there last town, but no message like 'we have destroyed...' came up after I took it. Only in the interturn that followed a message came up saying 'the English have been destroyed'. No responsible party was named. Does that mean their last settler committed suicide?

The colours are Rhye's team colours.

They probably had a settler on a boat and it was sunk.

NoAIPatrol is set in the .ini file. In C3C the default setting is 1, which means that the AI and barbarian units will not move around randomly unless you manually add the line "NoAIPatrol=0" (you can add the line anywhere in the file).

In PTW and Vanilla, the default setting was 0, so the AI and barbarians do move around randomly unless you add "NoAIPatrol=1" to the .ini file.

But somebody should have done that then? Or maybe Barbarians could have done it, I hadn't thought about that yet. It looks like more or less everything is settled, but you can't rule out the odd Barbarian Galley still being around somewhere.

:dunno: I haven't used barbarians in a long time.

Considering one of the civ colors is white, I think that would be a mod. ;)

That happened to me and on page ~10, there's a screenshot I posted of the bug happening to me in the Rise of Rome scenario.

@Optional: Did you know everyone when they died?

I had thought about that. I can't be sure, but it was quite a while since Navigation, so if there had still been a civ in the clouds, I would expect that civ to have been discovered by now, and then CivAssist2 would have notifed me that there was a new contact for me to buy.

But in a way I was lucky that taking Norwich didn't destroy the English yet. I wanted to get them off the map, but when I didn't see any sign of them anymore, I decided to make peace for Military Tradition. Even in their deplorable situation, they were still up with things tech wise. How the English exactly came to their end might well remain a mystery.

@ansar: Yes there is, look to the north of the Iroquois.

It's a colour, but it's not white...
Let me help you guys out, cos I'm playing with this mod, so I know. The civ you're talking about is Carthage, and they're a very pale shade of green, it's not white. There is a white civ in Rhye's team colours; it's Persia. But Persia is not in this game. And the Barbarians are black.
I find the colours that Rhye chose for the civs slightly more suitable than the default ones. The Netherlands always come up in Orange, like they should. The English are Red. Also good. I'm not sure about the Incans; they're very fluorescent yellow/green, it hurts your eyes. Sometimes I think; lemme play the Incans for once, but then I see those extremely fluorescent units, and I'm straight back to one of my more familiar civs.
