Interesting Screenshots

Something odd, the normal raw material's unit which should be a truck turned into Elvis. Is it Elvis's birthday today?

Yes. It's 8 January.

Ah ok, I made sure to have him executed. Elvis doesn't belong in India. You can see the infantry unit south of Delhi coming to kill him.

Is it just 1.22 or can this be applied to 1.00?

I don't know how its set up as of 1.00 but I would wanna upgrade to the free 1.22 patch anyway...

There were cities in those spots!

But you've played the game and didn't need them, so the point is basically moot anyway.

edit, x-post w/ YP.

This one isn't very interesting, but I felt like posting it anyway. It's the first time I've had a 4 turn Warrior/Settler factory that doesn't need any micro managing at all. Just queue them up, and let the factory take care of it. :)

Did I post a picture like the one below before? Not sure, if I did.

FYI I have Hittite, Egyptian, Sumerian, Celtic, Roman, Spanish, Arabian, Mongolian, Greek, and English units there waltzing all over my territory in that screenshot. I know some Aztecs (mostly jaguar warriors) came later, and the Vikings had waltzed acrossed my territory earlier. What are they doing? Well, I played the game this past summer... and my save tells me I have everyone allied against the Zulu. But, some of them might go to fight Scandinavia in that shot. I know a bunch of them had already waltzed all over my territory to fight against the Vikings, and I didn't start in on that war.

My people would probably be going into revolts: 23% "We just want peace", 77% "We're sick and tired of traffic jams!" (Script.txt really could be modded to say that in the obvious spot)

To the side, that looks like an extraordinarily evenly matched game.

Can you usually get away with this, Spoonwood? I assume the AI aggression was set on lower or lowest? I've been in such situations as well - well, not with THAT many civs in my territory - but I trie to prevent it now, because my experience is that it's quite likely that one of those 'polite' or 'gracious' civs will take advantage of my weak defense and mug me. I always leave AI aggression on normal.

How so? Or were you being sarcastic?

I can usually get away with very little military on pangea maps, or at least have done so lately (even on some Sid level games). But, lately, I've had the agression at least (the lowest setting). In *this* game above, I had the aggression at maximum or most aggressive. I think them not attacking me has to do with the fact that I traded with the AIs and had RoPs *and* that so many tribes lay around. The AIs don't often go looking for a second war, do they now (I don't really know)? So, if I have everyone at gracious or polite *and* there exists another tribe they feel annoyed or furious with, then they'll attack the other tribe (since they feel annoyed with them) first... or at least usually so. Consequently, the more tribes you have around, the easier it might work out to stay out of war. That's my guess.

Does anyone seem to get attacked on smaller *filled* maps with fewer tribes around than with more tribes?

Open the biq for whatever mod you are playing, choose Rules-Edit-World Sizes from the menus and reduce the 'distance between civs'

I've had civs going through my territory with RoP against a common enemy and they still attacked me. My defenses weren't great of course, but I think I would take care of my defenses better before allowing a civ to wander through my territory again, although in the early game on the higher levels the human player will always be vulnerable, I know.

I think he wants to INCREASE the distance between civs here - although perhaps when the number is set impossibly high the random placement generator will just ignore this number and place civs where it likes. Anyway, it is indeed this number that needs to be set to something reasonable.

I think he wants to INCREASE the distance between civs here.

Think of "distance between civs" as "how close are your rivals?"
The further away they are, the more crowded it gets in their portion of the map. (This isn't entirely accurate, but it should be sufficient to explain why reducing that number is the solution.)
