Interesting Screenshots

Not sure if this is in the easter eggs thread, but I've found that instead of New Istanbul, you get...

I didn't change it! I swear!

That's been on the Easter Eggs thread for a while.

Also, bad city location is bad. You should have built it to the Northwest on the river.

That is one of the funny bits of Civ 3.

@choxorn - if that is an inland lake it could be fresh water??? Else I agree with the river placement. I give up a whole lotta stuff to get that river placement.

Let's hope that "Improved" photobucket system will actually work for a change...

I have never seen that many barbs in one hut before - they just popped all over the place. it's possible some event popped some other hut... ? maybe?

Do you know the way to San Jose?

the ones at the top have come all the way from an east coast city to work the heartland. The bottom set are going to work the east coast city,:lol::lol:

Just destroy those English already. Prolonging their misery like that...so cruel! ;)

Did you pop a hut? If not, then those are probably from a local barbarian uprising, though I've never seen one so early before.

Look at the bright side, they'll probably go attack the Green civ (Japan?), or at least some of them will.

I spy with my little eye, a bunch of free slave workers. :mischief:

I did pop a hut on the mountain and they all popped out at the same time.

You are correct- the inland "sea" is small enough to be a lake! Not Constantinople is size 7 without an aqueduct in my game now.

Not to mention the dark red on the other continent are the Byzantines. :mischief:

Well in any case, the Japanese won't have much to worry about, with their city being so defendable and all.

I agree. Build it one tile North East, so you're still on the lake and don't waste the oasis?

One tile south would be even better, though the Dutch might have something to say about the matter.

I disagree. It should be built one tile to the North East so that the city can still use the flood plain instead of one grassland. Not to mention you'd have to declare war.

Meh, between one flood plain from Rotterdam and three oases, it's got plenty of food. It probably doesn't matter too much either way, really. War is obviously a problem in theory, but since there's a smoking Amsterdam in the background, I'm taking a hunch that the Dutch aren't on friendly terms anyway.

It's raining cats and dogs in Amsterdam - no wait, it's ..

It will be interesting to see if you encounter it again. I assume that you are on a Windows machine. I will have to watch to see if anything like that occurs on one of my Macs.

Heh, now it happened to me too! What I did was that I clicked the "Great, what's the big picture" button or whatever it was called, so I got the science advisor page up. Then I clicked on the domestic advisor tab, and then on a city name.

No, you go one tile southeast, and then one tile south and build a city on that hill to maximize the number of tiles that no other cities can "see", while still being next to the lake.

Yeah, but then you have to waste a couple turns, and it's more likely that the Dutch will shoot the civilians.

meh. whatever. Does it really matter?

Let's continue with what this thread is really for.
