Hello, new here (obviously). I didn't see anywhere specifically made for posting an introduction, but if there was my apologizes. If you would like to know anything about me, just ask and I will see if I want you to know it.

So anyways, I imagine there has been a thousand topics like this (or maybe not, again, I'm new here), but I have one simple question for everyone here:

Who would you like to see in a civ game and why? Here are my own personal choices (I may add on to it):

King Kamehameha the Great
Kingdom of Hawaii

Born in February of 1758, Kamehameha was a legend from birth. It was said that the birth of the king who would unite the islands of Hawaii would be marked by a comet; and Kamehameha was born during the passing of Halley’s Comet. Given the name Pai’ea (hard-shelled crab) at birth, he was ordered to be killed by Alapa’i, the ruler of the area where Kamehameha lived. His death was ordered because Alapa’i feared a prophesy given to him by one of his kahuna that the child would be a “killer of chiefs”. His parents expecting this, Kamehameha was given to Nae’ole, another “killer of chiefs” who would raise him until he was five. At the age of five, Kamehameha was invited back to the guilty Alapa’i, to live with his family. Under the guidance of his kahu, or teacher, Kamehameha was taught the ways of diplomacy and warfare. During this time, Pai’ea is said to have earned the name Kamehameha, which means “the loneliness of a god”.
In 1779, Kamehameha, now the aid to the current ruler of his home (Kalani’opu’u), traveled to Kealakekua Bay to meet Captain Cook; his first interaction with white men. In 1782, Kamehameha took the throne from Kalani’opu’u’s son, Kiwala’o with the support of chiefs from Kona. Soon Kamehameha had conquered the entire island of Hawaii, but his ambition grew into a desire to rule all of the Hawaiian islands. With training and firearms from American and British traders, Kamehameha mobilized on the islands of Maui, Molokai, and Oahu in 1795. Within days he had completely conquered Maui and Molokai and landed at Wai’alae and Waikiki on the island of Oahu. After the treachery of one of his high ranking commanders, Kamehameha managed to secure a set of cannons dug into the side of a cliff and capture Oahu.
After unsuccessfully invading the islands of Kauai and Ni’ihau in 1796 and 1803, Kamehameha began the construction of a massive armada composed of schooners constructed by foreigners and giant war canoes. After seeing this display of force, Kaumuali’i, ruler of Kauai and Ni’ihau, knew he could not achieve victory and in 1810 became a vassal of Kamehameha, making him the ruler of all of what is today Hawaii.
His later achievements included imposing taxes to promote trade with Europe and America, implementing a legal and governmental system, and ended the tradition of human sacrifice. Kamehameha not only became the first King of the Kingdom of Hawaii, but he also gained the nickname “Napoleon of the Pacific”.

Victor Emmanuel II
First King of Italy

Born on March 14, 1820 in Turin, Sardinia, Emmanuel was the first born of Charles Albert of Sardinia and Maria Theresa of Austria/Tuscany. During his youth, he lived with his father in Florence and showed interest in politics, sports, and war at an early age. In 1849 he became king after his father, humiliated by a military defeat at the hands of the Austria, abdicated the throne. In 1852 Emmanuel appointed Count Camillo di Cavour the title of Prime Minister, a major supporter and figure of the Italian Risorgimento (Italian Unification Movement). After thinking over advice given by Emmanuel, Cavour allied with Britain and France in the Crimean War against Russia. By joining a war against such a powerful opponent, Emmanuel had secured an alliance with both Britain and France. With his alliance with France in place, Emmanuel, through Cavour, began his plot against Austria. In a secret meeting in 1858 at Plombières-les-Bains, Cavour and the French Emperor Napoleon III came to an agreement that France would help Emmanuel defeat Austria for Nice and Savoy. France was only partially true to their word, and secretly made a deal with Franz Joseph of Austria so that Piedmont gained only Lombardy while France still received Nice and Savoy. By the end of the war, Cavour had resigned and Emmanuel had to seek out other advisors.
Later that year, Emmanuel’s army engaged the papal army at Castelfidardo and pushed the Pope back into Vatican City; getting Emmanuel excommunicated from the Catholic Church. On February 18, 1861 Naples, Sicily, Sardinia-Piedmont, and Italy united into the Kingdom of Italy with Victor Emmanuel II as its first king. In 1866, Italy was awarded Venetia as part of a peace settlement after the Seven Weeks War. Then in 1871, Emmanuel invaded the Papal States and established Rome as the capital of Italy.
Emmanuel supported Giuseppe Garibaldi’s Expedition of Thousand, which allowed for the quick conquest of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. By 1871 Emmanuel had united all of what is today Italy through strategic alliances, diplomacy, and what could be called a blitzkrieg style of warfare.

Hm, well Kudos to you for putting so much effort into that.

I'm not sure there really is an introduction forums. I never saw one, anyway.

Unfortunatly, this is the Off-Topic forum. Most of what we do here is bicker about Communism and Fascism and liberalism and conservatism. I'm not sure how much of a response you'll get. =o

Um.. I the only leader I'd like to see that comes to mind is Hirohito.

Well, the sad truth behind all those forms of government is that, while they may be different in theory, they are all the same in practice...
