The reasonable and sensible reaction of the people of Columbus, Ohio to the alien landing (As opposed to the mass panic in the rest of the United States) endeared the city government to XONES, and the city progressed quickly. With the area they took over, they set up a moderate democratic government, suitable for ruling with no major rash decisions or shortcomings.

After the alien invasion wiped out large populations in the Far East, a group of Australian children tried to fly away from Australia north to find safety. They had been disguised as pine trees to get past alien security at the airport. The plane crashed on an island that had its population wiped out by the war. The children elected the oldest among them, Philip, as their leader. He received the title "Lord of the Pines." As they grew up, Philip conquered the islands around them. The islands were soon named the "Philip Pines" after Philip and his followers known as 'Pines.' (I claim the Philippines)

In the aftermath of the XONES's purging of the earth, the people across Japan states emerged from their vaults to see a world that's been changed. The master mind of the purging of the earth is placing the people of the world in a twisted sadistic experiment.
The vault dwellers in Japan, with their culture and heritage intact, restored the Imperial throne of the Emperor and organized the New Empire of Japan.

Richard is highly eccentric trillionare, who seemingly appeared out of nowhere in the decade leading up to the purge. He gained a large amount of money out of amazingly accurate stock market predictions and used that money to pioneer a coroporation that specialized in everything to do with areoplanes. This industry gave him even more money, that he spent on insane developments, like buying Madagascar and the surrounding islands and building a gigantic flying fortress. However, his real passion was space exploration, a perfect accompiment to his areoplane buiness.
A few days before the alien invasion, Richard and the company's stockholders flew off in the flying fortress to Antartica and Richard sent a message to the world, ordering his citizens to hide in the wilderness and suggesting that other do the same. When the death andriods came, many Madagascarians survived because of his order. After the dust had settled, Richard and his stockholders returned from Antartica.
R.U.A.C has accepted XONES's challenge and will try and achieve the dream that Richard had been trying to achieve for many years; to get into space.
