part of the reason is that im 15, and that i didnt start the clock on the exact minute. it took me about 8 mins. they should start and end the clock for you, not you telling them what your time was.

OK, maybe my previous post was a bit... obscure. What I meant to comment on is that asking someone to post their IQ is kind of like asking people to post their penis size. Everyone 'stretches' the truth a bit. It's human nature.

Incredibly, everyone is suddenly a genius or near-genius, even though statistically only something like 1% or less of any population is actually IQ 145 or above.

I once knew a guy who scored 186. In my special class in high school, two or three students were in the 140's range (a class of 25 very gifted people). The other 1,000 students at my high school--many of them highly intelligent too--were below 130. I know this because the Canadian government was at the time giving JHS and HS students mildly-disguised IQ tests, and had they scored higher than 130 they would have been placed in the gifted class (my school was at the time doing a sort of pilot 'enrichment' program, which I believe they discontinued).

Anyway, though I've 'met' many obviously talented, articulate and intelligent civfanatics, there are no more than 5 or 6 people I would suspect of being IQ 145 or higher. Mind you, I do believe that the average intelligence of people here does exceed the norm.

But everyone 'near-genius' or above? Please. This is almost demeaning to our little community.

Hey Goodbye_Mr_Bond That test is just a VERY easy and fun test - I mean I haven't seen anyone get below 120 and it even says that if English isn't you native language then the test might give you a lower IQ than you really have!!!!

This test is just for fun and there are nowhere near enough questions or enough diversity to judge anyone and give them an accurate IQ!!!

What I belive is that really only the people who got high score(or wan't people to think that!) are posting here!
Really ranking everyone that plays civ by this forum!
Is like grabing one guy out of few billon and saying because his IQ is 96 all of them must be around there

but like I said personallity and persaverance will ALWAYS be more Important than IQ.
I belive you can have a high IQ and still be as dumb as a brick!

I got a 150. It was an interesting test, but I wouldn't put too much stock in the results. I doubt they will try to 'insult' your intelligence then expect you to buy a bunch of 'lessons' or a credit card.

IQ tests are dumb. They only test your intelligence in so far as it is measurable: ie - how good you are at taking dumb tests. Intelligence is unquantifiable (unless you roll 3D6 <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/lol.gif" border=0>) and I've seen lots of pretty dumb stuff posted by the geniuses (genii? Genies?) on this thread. In spite of the fact that I am unsure of the plural of genius, I'm sure I'd get a high score too, but can't be bothered because I don't believe it'll benefit me at all or even teach me something new. Chances are, it won't be very funny either, except in a schadenfreude way.
