They could not even transport a large force to britain let alone invade. I am talking about how would it go in all out war in the gulf between all the land forces air and sea power both nations could muster, with all other nations staying out. While the UK has greater tech I think the land war could be trickier, however with control of the air I belive the UK would win. However occupying Iran would not happen.

I don't think either would culture-flip, and diplomacy doesn't seem to be going very well ... so I'd build a flotilla of Locusts of Chiron and send them to invade.

That is why we don't want Iran getting planet busters.

All I am saying is that Blair could say "We stood by your side with Iraq, now we want your help with Iran." I imagine it would look pretty bad on the US if the Britain single-handedly took out Iran.

oh no doubt however, i can't see the americans or the british even allowing the israelis onto the dance floor - alá the 1st Gulf War.

that's an interesting idea about canada and australia jumping into the fray. i'm not convinced though that either country would be too eager to tangle w/ iran.

Israel invading Iran? Right now I don't think our goverment is strong enough to invade an illeagel settelment. And if there was consensus for that, Israel doesn't even remotly have that kind of capabiliteis.

They'd have ship us around, get our supplies etc. The arab and iranian reaction would intesify the violence, and our numbers wouldn't be enough to justify that.

A few airstikes by the UK as well as complete naval strangulation and Iran would back down. From what I hear Iran wouldn't have the gasoline needed to conduct much of a serious defense.
