GM Comment:
Because I am a sad, sorry failure of a GM, coupled with my busy schedule, I will be semi-retiring. In my place, kiwitt will take over my duties as GM and will be responsible for all future updates. I will still supervise this thread, help kiwitt and update the front page as needed.
You might notice I've left out the politics section of the stats. I've stopped updating it, since it's a mostly cosmetic feature. However, I'll send it to kiwitt along with the rest of the stats so if he wants to he can keep it. Another issue I've discussed with kiwitt is supplies, which I considered scrapping and replacing it with a compulsory upkeep on units, since a few of you seem to have trouble with the supply system. However, after thinking about it I've kept it for now, and I'll let kiwitt decide whether he wants to keep or modify or scrap the system.
Also, I've given the players I think roleplay the best (namely Bosnia, Russia and Xi'an) extra cultural influence. If you think you've been roleplaying and you should get something, well, keep doing it and if kiwitt likes what he's seeing he'll give it to you next turn.
As usual, please czech the details to see if I've done everything correctly.

The defeat at Peking has been a resounding wake-up call to the court and the King in Xi'an. No longer to we see ourselves as invincible, and the destruction of the our entire new army has shown that. The failure to capture the port and initiate trade has also severely hampered our financial plans for the future, and everything planned for the future. So, in order to combat this, the King is issuing forth a massive reform effort, which will take a massive amount of manpower and years of dedication to pull off.
The first thing on the list, is to improve the precarious stability of the nation. Although stable enough, the government's inability in some areas to tax and control the civilians is hampering our industrial output, and our ability to fund projects to strengthen the state of Xi'an, and bring it to a world level.
So, this turn, the King has agreed to a financial plan in which all of the annual income will be spent strengthening the government and its influence (9 IC spent into stability). This will be done by enlarging certain government branches, bringing a crushing fist down on corruption, and expanding roads and transport to far off areas in order to bring them under government control. After this, the true reforms can begin and Xi'an can truly live up to it's title of "The Grand".
This plan, although, is subject to possible change depending on current events.
The Swazi king is quite saddened that many of the city states chosen for inclusion in the grand Kingdom of Swaziland have been quite resistant to the expensive gifts and treasures that the King has bestowed upon them. Perhaps one last shipment of trade goods and other incentives will be enough to convert them at last. If not, then the King may have to take other avenues to solidify his grand Kingdom’s lands.

Bosnian Culture flourishes in Coffee Houses
All around the Empire coffee houses have been opening, and in those public gathering spaces culture flourishes, artists exchange art forms, poets write songs and the average Joe just relaxes. To supply the needs of the Coffee houses the Sultan, who also visits the most famous Coffee shop in the world the "Kod Mehe", has decided to open to factories, one for producing nargeelas and the other for packing and grinding coffee. Nargeelas are instruments for smoking in which the smoke is cooled and filtered by passing through ice tea or water. Tobacco is usually smoked even though opium is allowed. Marihuana is becoming more and more available and it is being use more and more. Coffee is currently imported from various nations but experiments have proven that coffee can be grown in Turkey, the race is on to make the first coffee plantation in Turkey

The Caliph was ecstatic. The government was much more efficient now, but it could still be better. That was to be set on the back burner for now. Ishak saw that his country was falling behind, and might soon not be able to compete internationally. This was absolutely unacceptable, so he commissioned the building of a new factory in the province of Syria. Meanwhile, he continued his diplomatic advances towards the people of Egypt, trying to convince them to join the great Caliphate.

Science is ridiculous. If you keep giving 20 science points to countries with science points every few turns, hardly anyone else will ever get science discoveries. Also, it might be a good idea to put spoilers on the wars/events image. Just my opinion.

To assist the great Siamese cultural champions, the Kingdom would need more direct recipients of its achievements. Malaya, once a resistor of Siamese greatness, would now be susceptible to Siam's stronger industrial and cultural might. The Malayans would willingly join Siam now, for there would be no reason not to. The islanders to the east would also be willing recipients of unification, for their sculpture workers and ours would benefit greatly from shared techniques and experiences. With the Philippines with us, nothing will stop the Siamese cultural explosion from rocking the world once again!

The presidency of James Carter would forever be known as the era of the Liberal Reformation. The Freedom Party by 1844 had become weakened. After the Freedom Party National Convention in Melbourne in January 1844, the party split into the Western Freedom and Eastern Freedom parties.
But the influence of the Carter presidency would last for a generation to come, according to some. Carter's handpicked successor, Ryan Kelly, was the Liberal Democratic candidate, easily sweeping all four Indonesian states, Queensland, New South Wales, and Adelaide. Nationalist candidate William Clay took the vote in most of Victoria. Eastern Freedom candidate Henry Sismour took the vote in Tasmania, and Western Freedom candidate Mike Shepherd took Perth and Outback.

The King smiled at learning that his factories were now at full capcity. Now everything they manufactured could be used for investment in amies, navies, more factories, expandsion, science, and other things. The King decides to send Julio Hernandez to colonize the shores of the Carribean, and bribe the natives into joining our empire.

On the morning of January 13th 1844, Athalupa III has died in his sleep. After a period of false claims, Juan Capac is crowned the new emporer. He has called for healing the wounds between the European Powers and ourselves.

Napoleon II decided that he would take the lessons learned from the Roman War and complete a work on military tactics. He was schooled personally by his father on military tactics, as well as having graduated from Académie Militaire de la France. His book was given a simple name, "Lessons on Warfare" or "Leçons sur la Guerre" and he considers it his greatest work. His final goals in life were to first restore the honor his father had brought to France, something he felt winning the Roman War did, and to refine the tactics designed by his father. The tactics outlined in this great word are a combination of standard Napoleonic Tactics, Limey Warfare, and also something applied in the Roman War called Rincer la Guerre, translating literally Flush Warfare.
This name comes from the way the troops attacked so that they would literally flush out the Roman defenders from fixed fortifications. Napoleon II is calling these new tactics Française Guerre and he has ordered all French officers to be trained in it.
