Mango Elephant
Deity
Nation name: Southern Han Empire
Flag:
Color: Purplish Red
Capital: Canton
Description: The Han people took control of Southern China after the Qing dynasty fell, and made the new capital the city of Guangzhou. The Han are the majority of the people here, the elite, and as such most of the important people (the scientists, the merchants, the scholars, and the emporer too) are all Han. Getting the lesser Chinese people to join the Southern Han Empire was easy peasy, as most of them are backwoods hill people who didn't even know the Qing had fallen in the first place. The one's who did resist were killed, of course. Han people worship their ancestors and ask for their guidance, and many are buddhist or taoist and most everyone is confucius. The elite class are scholars, and dumb people have to be peasants. The Southern Han built a great imperial palace in Guangzhou with three great towers (called Sun, Moon, and Heaven) where the scholars study the elements and the stars and the properties of the natural world. The Han also have many other great universities focused on improving farming and sailing techniques, and because they found fish plentiful in the harbors this year the Han believe, as the superstitious people they are, that they are called to master the seas.
National Goals: To become the largest trade empire in East Asia and to have a great navy. Also, conquer places.
