I was seriously addicted to Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 (with both expansions) for a while. I also loved playing Master of Orion II. I loved SMAC, and have been known to give SimCity 3000 Unlimited a try. I can't build a efficient city to save my life, but I just love to zoom in and watch the Sims walking down the sidewalk.

I'm not addicted to Civ3, the following scenario is quite normal:

"It's getting late, I should go to bed soon. But first, I'll do a few quick-starts to find a good start location for my next game."
....
"Oh, this one's nice. Let me see how the first few turns play out."
....
"Man, I'm tired. I'll just play on a few more turns, and save at 1000 BC."
....
In-game advisor: "Sleep is for the weak!"
"Huh? What!?"

Against the AI, civ is the only game I play, again and again.

But Civilization III is far and away my greatest addiction.

Civ is most accidting. Especially Civ 3 Conquest.

There was a time I could honestly say I was addicted to Civ. However, once the Paradox titles (EU2, HOI1/2, and Victoria) were ported to the Mac, I was hooked. Now, I'd have to say I play a steady flow between all these games.

I don't play games all that much, BUT, I'm absolutely hooked on Civ3, having played Civ2 several years ago and getting bored with it. Still, I don't get to play all that much, at least not as much as I like of have time for.

I used to be hooked on Diablo2, but that was a while ago.

I wonder what the average hours people here put in playing Civ per week!

If there had been no follow-ups, I'd probably still be playing CIV-I after 14 years ...

1st person shooters are another addiction of mine, but these pass as quickly as they came within a few weeks at one particular game.

EDIT: just to illustrate my problem: I am now hanging around CFC, because I am at my job where the comps don't allow me to play CIV ... I'm on methadone, so to speak.

yeah I pretty much to the same thing... it's kinda sick in a way... but I'm still doing it.

Civ is addictive, but Everquest has been blamed for death of it's players and has it's own support groups .

And yeah EQ is my biggest game addiction for the last 5 years or so.

Other than the first 3 civ's the main game i am addicted to is Day of Defeat. I used to be a pretty big madden junky back in the late 90's, but mostly civ is my addiction.

I had a serious Medieval Total War addiction for quite a while. The strategy isn't as developed as Civ, but I love the real-time combat in that game.
