Is Community Patch supposed to be easy?

I installed the community patch (core only, no community balance overhaul), and I've played one and a half games with it, both which have been extremely easy (even easier than vanilla game). In my current game I'm in the renaissance on prince difficulty, I have a score of over 800 while the next highest AI has something like 4 or 500 at most. I've had no more than three outdated units at a time without having anyone declaring war on me, even though one of my neighbors has the strongest army in the game so far. One AI civ's capital has a population of 4 even though they haven't ever been invaded. I think the AIs have only built maybe one or two wonders, I haven't had any competition for the rest at all.

Is the difficulty supposed to be this easy? Do I need to change some setting to get better AI improvements from the mod?

Thanks in advance. New to the forum, sorry if this has been asked before but I'm having trouble finding similar questions about the non-overhaul version of the mod; most people seem to say it should be harder if anything.

He is not using VP, just the CP without CBO or CSD.
If i remember correctly it'sjust AI improvements and bug fixes with no balance changes.

I've never tried just CP, but first of all, are you sure that you have it activated correctly? If I am not mistaken, one of the very few changes to gameplay in CP is that siege units do not need to setup before firing. If you have noticed this change, then you are playing with VP activated.

Yes, the siege units do not need to be set up before firing so it should be activated properly.
It's weird that it seems like the AI is doing worse than it would be doing in the vanilla version even though the CP claims to improve AI, but I guess I'll just try bumping up the difficulty.

There are some issues with AI behavior in the current version.

Are you playing with the version on the Steam Workshop or the version from CivFanatics?

Easy? Just shows how poor I am with the game as I find it really challenging & I only play on Prince level.
