I say it's their lives, not mine, so I'm fine with it. But how do you feel about a 16 year old and a 32 year old dating?

Edit: remember in this scenario you are not told which ones the guy and which the girl, if you think that matters use options 3 or 4.

Depends if the 16 year old is my daughter..........

All judgements are subjective.

Not with my daughter he wouldnt. I just ran off a 34 year old who had no business calling my 18 year old, so, I would definitely say nope.

I'm not going to stop them (unless I'm the 16yo's father) and I'm not going to advise them against it (unless I'm a friend of one of them), but the odds of it working out well are pretty miniscule. Age differences matter less the older one gets, and 16 isn't old enough.

I'd be worried about what kind of 32-year-old male would go out with a 16-year-old girl... 'cos let's be frank, you don't date a 16-year-old for her conversation, or her interests, or her job...
(I assume the 32-year-old is a man, and I would be very surprised to be proven wrong)

I tried to mack it with a 32 year old.

Oh silliness.

Sure, whatever.

No, no, no, no and no.

It may be just shy of statutory rape, but I'd certainly want to see the head (and criminal record) examined of any 32-year old who'd date a 16-year old.

Nothing good could come of it.

It's just fine . . .

when they are 30 and 46, respectively. Any 32-yr old (particularly male) trying to pick up on a 16-yr old has serious problems, and that in itself is sufficient reason to run him off.

I should clarify my choice: it's fine as long as they don't have sex to which either doesn't consent.

To clarify my point (and probably have 50% or more of forum posters here flame me)...

At 16 it is passingly rare for an individual to be emotionally stable/mature enough to have relationship with someone twice their age.

Which leads to the questioning of the older persons motivations.

I can understand that parents of 16 year old girls would not like that situation, but frankly; there are worse men around than an average 32 year old man.
I totally agree but to play devils advacte, the average 32 year old is not dating a 16 year old.

It's their business. No problem with it, assuming that it's an honest relationship, and not the 32 year old person trying to use the 16 year old in any way.

Sex? If the girl's 16 and the guy's 32, I think that technically counts as a crime. At least in some jurisdictions. Same if it's vice versa. Then again, I don't have much of a problem with it if both consent. It's hard to say for sure, though, whether the 16 year old can really consent. Some are mature enough at 16 to consent (with full understanding) - if so, no problem, regardless of which gender the 16 year old is. If he/she isn't mature enough to consent with full understanding, and they have sex, it's wrong, no matter who's which gender.

At the same time, if I were the parent of the 16 year old, I'd be quite unhappy, and if I were a friend of either of them, I'd probably cautiously advice against the relationship.

Nope. 18 and 34 is a different story.

Hey, she told me she was 19 and a half!

Seriously though, that's way to broad of an age range.
