Is technology advancement rate slowing down?

Not that I dissagree with the opinions posted here but out of orbit travelling is still very expensive, and nothing new has been invented since the space shuttles were built.

Which is why projects like Virgin Gallactic are so exciting. In itself Spaceship One/ Two might be pleasure cruisers but the development of the tec to fly out of the gravity well could revoloutionise access to orbit. Rockets (carrying the Shuttle or no) are fantastically ineficient at leaving the ground.

I agree; we really do need a huge boost in our space-development. We need an influx of infrastructure and interest and investment. There is a massive amount of potential out there, but the initial cost is so high.

Scientific Advancement is not slowing down. For this, I cite the increasing number of scientific journals and scientific articles.

10 years ago, we were still on dialup. Wikipedia did not exist. Civ was 2-dimensional AND WE LOVED IT!
