Update 2: 1800 BCE
1912 Hebraic Calendar
This is what G-d, Lord of Israel, says: Let each man put on his sword, and go from one gate to the other in the camp.
- Ki Thisa (Exodus) 126:32:27
War has come to this world, and few have been spared. Egypt, already a land beset by violence, continues on in this way. The collision of Punic and Italic powers has occurred in the Mediterranean as many expected, and the barbaric nation of Lu has stormed out of their gates to challenge the civilized nation of Shang. War has come to this world, and its effects are felt by all.
Then again, the bloodshed hasnt been as bad as expected; the reason being a lack of cavalry to use. The horses of the world are still beset by the plague, it ahs in fact spread. Now not only are wild horses and the horses of breeders infected, so are those of the militaries of the world (I have halved all PC cavalries). War, though pushing on, has slowed considerably.
Despite the advancement of most of the world, Noko, Thrace, Athnens, Mnogobore have slid to a stand still (no orders from Kentharu, Kalthzar, Hellfury, or Gelion, this turn I just didnt do anything to your stats, next turn you will be punished, then NPCed in 2 turns).
A new nation has come into fruition, Persia. The barbaric tribes of the southern Iranian plateau have united into one nation seeking the benefits of the trade that passes by their capital of Hormuz. Will they maintain their barbarian tendencies and march out against the nation of the world, or will they follow their Arab neighbors in the Doha League and seek to rule the seas and trade?
In Ethiopia the ever volatile climate has risen to a new height and threatens to turn Africa into a war zone. Though Addis Ababa has not moved yet, the righteous indignation of the people of Aksum seems to be stirring up fiery anger in the hearts of the Addis Ababans. Israel quickly jumped into the conflict pledging support to their brethren in faith and blood while Saba has stayed neutral, but is feeling increasing pressure from the Jewish minority to aide Aksum.
On the Nile River, the war between the two Egypts rages on. Though Egyptra had initial gains that gave it much territory, the Upper Egyptians have pushed them back and taken much of Egyptra. With superior strategy, the day seemed won. That is until the Egyptrans adapted to the Upper Egyptian cavalry based strategy and began turning the tide. The Upper Egyptians used a wedge strategy to divide an conquer, unfortunately the Egyptrans simply began to allow the wedge through to their middle before have the two, now separated, halves form a circle around the Egyptrans and subsequently defeat the Upper Egyptians. This took place in several battles. Now Upper Egypt seems to have the upper hand (no pun intended), but an increasingly crafty Egyptra could retake their old empire and possibly overtake Upper Egypt if Pharaoh Amunhatep is not careful.
In Italy the Italic Romans and Punic Carthaginians have finally met each other on the field of battle. Overwhelmed by Roman numbers and strategy, the Carthaginian holdings in Italy fell quickly. Using a strategy in which one of the generals led the Carthaginian army on a wild goose chase while another landed behind Carthaginian lines, the Romans secured quick victory. Meanwhile, a separatist movement, encouraged by the years of semi-independence, has grown up in Sicily. Despite the unnerving separatist movement, the Carthaginian navy prevented a roman assault, perhaps even with separatist support, on Sicily. The Punic brethren of Carthage in the north, Marseilles, have declared neutrality. Will the Punic homeland follow suit, or will they come to the Carthaginian aide, or will they seek Carthages destruction in aiding Rome.
Meanwhile, the Punic children, both Carthage and Marseilles, have been quite successful in their expansion. The Carthaginians, through an ingenious system known as the colonial system, have colonized the Balearics as well as most of both Sardinia and Corsica. Their governmental system, favoring local rule over federal, has encouraged colonial expansion as people see it as an opportunity to gain power for themselves. Marseilles on the other hand has expanded through crafty diplomacy and culture based foreign policy. Though the Celts of Gaul and Iberia have remained more than lukewarm in their opinion of Marseilles due to the long struggles the two have had, the Celts of the Po River valley have eagerly joined seeing the culturally similar nation of Marseilles, or Punics as they are known to their neighbors.
While the Punic children flex their muscles for the first time, the Phoenicians due so once again. Diverting their great wealth in trade has caused some minor financial catastrophes in some Mediterranean nations, while others have greatly benefited. The war in Egypt has driven Phoenician merchants away form Egyptra in favor of Israel and the new city of Gaza which has developed there. Also, the Phoenicians have been stolen form the Athenian ports by the offers of Sparta, now a Phoenician ally.
The Germanic kingdom of Teutonia has stalled in expansion, but not in other matters. The religion of Teutonia has fueled great fervor in the building of the Temple of the Ancients. Though Regna Coscoma would like to have the building completed now and the holy city subsequently founded, the temple will take more time. The Teutons have also begun examining the ways of the Punics of Marseilles and the surrounding celts in order to further their technological and philosophical innovations.
Babylon has continued to expand, but the quick devils that are Assyria have taken most of Mesopotamia and blocked off most northward expansion. War seems to be drawing ever nearer in the most peaceful corner of civilization.
In China most of the nations find themselves stagnated due to increasing barbarian pressure, but Lu moves on. They have invaded Shang and all but the capital and a small strip of river bank remains under Shang hands, along with a formidable army. In the south the nation of Yangzhou has turned to the sea for expansion and colonized the Korean isle of Cheju-Do.
With war having arrived in full blast upon our small world, will the nations of the world survive to see the next day, or will they fall under the burden and pressure?
