Jack Roush, co-owner of Roush racing, was hospitalized Tuesday night following a plane crash at Wittman Air field in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Roush was landing his Hawker Beechcraft Premier jet when the crash took place around 6:15 p.m. local time. He was taken to a local hospital and was listed in serious, but stable condition.

He was in town for the annual Experimental Aircraft Association's annual AirVenture.

The EAA released a statement on its website saying Brenda Strickland of Plymouth, Michigan was also on the plane. Both occupants exited the aircraft following the accident and have non-life threatening injuries.

The EAA said the NTSB is leading the investigation into the accident.

It is good that Roush is okay. NASCAR has a horrible history with plane crashes. The last crash I remember was the Hendrick plane crash in 2004, which I was reminded of earlier in the week because of other problems.

Hendrick plane has problems, all OK: As a precaution, one of Hendrick Motorsport airplanes returned to Concord Regional shortly after takeoff Sunday morning due to a maintenance advisory light. Passengers were switched to another aircraft and traveled safely to Indianapolis. The plane has already been evaluated and returned to active status.(7-25-2010)
