James Bond

I didn't like how Bond got shot, fell a hundred meters into a river, and suddenly came back with little to no explanation. It's implied that a beautiful Turkish diver just happened to be in the river and saved him, but that's a bit of a deus ex machina.

Yeah, that movie went off the rails towards the end.

My comment wasn't really on topic, but I've been wanting to get that off my chest for awhile now. So disappointed ... :(

Best Bond: Craig or Connery. Connery's the original and probably the best but Craig gets props for bringing some class back to the series after all that invisible car crap.
Ah poo- the invisible car crap was practically existing technology when that movie came out. There's a lot more to be bothered by.

Golfinger
Connery
Halle Berry in bikini

But this thread lacks a fundamental category: Best Bond music.

"A view to kill" by Duran Duran (however i prefer one which in fact never was: "Gold" by Spandau Ballet)

Bond songs should be sung by women. This is another solid fact.

Well, if it is another solid fact then i will go with "You Only Live Twice" by Nancy Sinatra.

The answers here depend a lot on how old you were when the movies came out or when you saw them. I was lucky in that the Moore movies came out when I was a kid and so they were appealing to me, and then I got the Dalton and Brosnan Bonds at just the right times as well.

For best movie I have to pick Goldfinger, but the one I enjoyed the most on first viewing would probably be Goldeneye . . .

For Bond girl it would be Robert Davi's character's girlfriend in License to Kill, though Maryam d'Abo was pretty great too. Again, it probably has a lot to do with how old I was at the time . . .

Are we supposed to judge them by the timeperiod they were released and how much we enjoyed them in our youth, or for how much we enjoy them now?

For reference - I thought Smokey and the Bandit was the greatest movie ever. ..besides the original Herbie. I'm not sure they're all that great now.

Best film: From Russia with Love
Best Bond girl: Honey Ryder
Best Bond: Sean Connery

The above are facts, anything else written is wrong.

I somewhat doubt these facts but you really aren't far off in any way.

Yup, strong correlation especially with preferred Mr Bond.

My first was For Your Eyes Only and I though it was hilarious and unintentionally camp which happens quite often when some sort of sports is included in a movie.

Can't speak for Herbie but S&tB actually was/is good in it's genre of harmless mainly non-violent action films though Needham, Reynolds or Field probably didn't expect Academy Awards for it.

Bond, James Bond - Connery
movie - Goldfinger
main squeeze - Diana Rigg // one can always question whether the movie itself counts as a proper Bond
female on either size - Luciana Paluzzi
