Japan on regent

Two cities have been destroyed on the southern front, and I have captured Moscow, it had The Art of War, so it was worth keeping.

Smolensk is captured by the Inca, and St. Petersburg has been razed.

civ8818pa.jpg

The sole reason for keeping that was for the furs.

civ8824hc.jpg

Russia has quit attacking me, and their core cities are all gone.

civ8830lb.jpg

The Russians have taken a power dip, while me and the Incans shot up.

civ8849xl.jpg

Currently, the Russians have about two turns to survive, maybe three if they are lucky.

civ8856mi.jpg

More Cavalry armies will replace the older ones.

civ8863rg.jpg

The hopeless Russians have one city left, and about six cavalry are knocking on its door.

civ8878ph.jpg

The Russians would not give me Nationalism for a peace treaty.

civ8882kq.jpg

Oh well...

civ8893td.jpg

Next time - In what order and what alliances will I make to quickly eliminate the last three "actual" nations?

in this order incans, mayans, aztecs

Man, I like your style. Just kill everyone. You even gave Russia a chance for Peace! I've definitely learned a lot from this thread.

That thing with Russia  I love doing it as well! I can't imagine how in one of my games when I was getting 18 Swordsman to the poorly defended Babylon, Hammurabi wouldn't give my 100 gold!

P.S. They got destroyed in 2 turns (1 turn was just to get there)

Edit: While scrolling to the top of the page I observed that you razed most of the Russian cities. Why? It was danger of flipping?

You could have traded russia Industrialization for Nationalism and then eliminate them on the same turn, unless you havent gotten any peace treaty breaks.;) Btw, I'd say go for Incas, then Aztecs, then, IF YOU STILL HAVENT WON,kill the Mayans, thouugh arent the Mayans like, totally advanced? I mean really, then have a wonder in every city.:p And their whole terrain is RR'ed.

Because he didn't want to go for a domination victory. He wants to go for conquests.:)

No one else had Industrialization and the Russians could have easily give it to the Mayans and the Incans for a peace treaty. I really don't need to have Nationalism anyway.

Well, its time for a government change. An increase in science production is needed, and military support is not a problem.

civ8905mp.jpg

I switched to monarchy, and science production increased by about 40%. More science is coming from specialists.

civ8911pt.jpg

I quickly declare war with the Incans, I do not care about reputation from this point on. War with the Mayans looked more tedious, and I want the Mayans to wear down some of its troops on the Incans in getting into an alliance with me.

civ8925qg.jpg

The Maya fell for the plan without giving them much.

civ8939qi.jpg

A look at six Incan cities that are the close to me.

civ8942gj.jpg

In less than a turn, I razed all of the cities. The Mayans may not play a big part of the war, but I don't want to them to expand as quickly on former Russian/Incan territory.

civ8953cb.jpg

This war seems to be doing well. Too bad the Incans don't have all of those wonders.

civ8964yn.jpg

After losing another city over the last turn, the Incans have six cities left.

civ8973ra.jpg

On another note, ships have been sent to the Aztecs to capture their dyes. They asked two or three techs for 20 turns worth of dyes. This method is a little cheaper.

civ8982cc.jpg

That's the only city I am trying to take for now, for target pratice the Aztecs can see if they can take the city back. I don't want to sweep the island, for the fear the Mayans will attempt at colonizing it.

civ8999ae.jpg

Next time - How much of a headache will the Maya give me?

Mayan expansion is leading into this future war maybe faster than expected. Now they have Infantry, I will have to run 5 Cavalry into one of those.

civ9002xu.jpg

Since I am only at 55% at land area, it is worth it to keep some of these cities, they are not in Mayan culture ranges. They will provide defence, and I can starve them to speed up my science rate.

civ9019du.jpg

The Great Lighthouse is worthless, so I let it go.

civ9021oj.jpg

Most likely, this is the last deal I will make with the Mayans.

civ9036ff.jpg

After this, the Incans are down to three cities.

civ9049ru.jpg

I have some room to capture some more cities and keep them. I will also be #1 in culture soon.

civ9056oe.jpg

With one city left with older units for defense, it seems like it is time for the Incans to go.

civ9063ak.jpg

One major threat is left, the Mayans.

civ9072rg.jpg

The Mayans have a nice core with Infantry for defense, so I will need more than 100 units for this upcoming war. I am rushing some units, I need to do something with the money before the end of the game.

civ9085ly.jpg

That chart says I am eight times as powerful as the Mayans, looks good.

civ9097cw.jpg

Next time - How will I wear down the three remaining civilizations?

The Aztecs should be rather easy. But Carthage will take wile because you need to get some naval units out there. The Mayan seem extremely hard, but you can do it easily.

told yah he'd do that order

I don't see why I have to pay for this if I am the superpower. Anyway, I'm going to declare war on them soon.

civ9100dn.jpg

The last major war starts.

civ9110ys.jpg

I took three colony cities from the Mayans. I can keep these cities, as long as my land area does not exceed 63%. It is about 57% now.

civ9123oh.jpg

That wonder is useless so far away from the capital, but I keep the city.

civ9134ba.jpg

This is funny, do you think that will change the tide of the war?

civ9140vj.jpg

I am now at war with everyone, and it will most likely stay that way until the end of the game.

civ9154qe.jpg

With only seven cities, my confidence about winning this is increasing.

civ9162sn.jpg

Now I surround the Mayans on all sides.

civ9174wz.jpg

I could always use more armies in the game, I think this is great leader #5 or 6.

civ9182zu.jpg

There are only two worthwhile techs to get for the rest of the game. I need Amphibious Warfare to take care of Carthage, and Motorized Transportation for tanks to help me out on land wars.

civ9192nf.jpg

Next time - Will tanks come in time to help me beat the Mayans?

I'd recommend going for flight + amphibious war, and forget motorized transportation. Tanks are slower than cavalry, and you seem to have more than enough numerical superiority to take out the Mayan infantry with just cavalry.

With flight, you can prebuild/rush an airport in that Aztec city you captured as well as in your home cities, and then dump loads of units on that island. Unless you have units to spare and are already sending them on their way in boats :goodjob:
