Japan on regent

Tanks, then Marines, then Conquest. :)
Yeah, this is the best strategy! Also, if you are the tech leader, after you research those 2 and maybe flight you could stop researching or invest less money in research.

Edit: I brought your thread on page 10!!!!!!

Um... I would to motorized transportation, then amphibious warfare. I wanna see tanks against the Aztec's speamen.:p

And then you will lose a tank, like this.:spear:

I'd recommend going for flight + amphibious war, and forget motorized transportation. Tanks are slower than cavalry, and you seem to have more than enough numerical superiority to take out the Mayan infantry with just cavalry.

With flight, you can prebuild/rush an airport in that Aztec city you captured as well as in your home cities, and then dump loads of units on that island. Unless you have units to spare and are already sending them on their way in boats

Tanks, then Marines, then Conquest.

I believe that tanks are a good solution, they have much more attack and defense than Cavalry. For both the Mayan and Aztec wars, Cavalry were picked off easily. You could escort them with a higher defensive unit, but that would defeat the purpose of quick movement. Flight is also more expensive than most industrial age techs.

With six cities left, the Mayans are not doing very well. I'm running out of units, so I need to rush some more.

Three armies and 25 Cavalry go up the east side of the Mayan empire. It is proving to be successful.

Only three cities left. Most of the wonders aren't giving me be bonuses, but I did get Magellan's Voyage out of one of them.

Those ships loaded with eight tanks and one army consisting of tanks better hurry up!

civ9230dq.jpg

Tanks are working out much better than the eight Cavalry I sent some time back. The tank army was lost, because the Mayans sank my ship.

I do find a replacement, and their capital is destroyed.

civ9252hb.jpg

The only big city of the Mayans that is left is their capital. The Sistine Chapel won't do anything since I have no Cathedrals.

civ9263ws.jpg

The Mayans are now living on borrowed time. Tanks helped a lot on this front too.

civ9270hs.jpg

I take the last two small cities, and the Mayans are done.

civ9286qv.jpg

On the same turn, Carthage falls to my Marines. Only one civilization remaining...

civ9292wr.jpg

Next time - Seven Aztec cities are left, how fast can I win?

Wow they sucked. Hurry up and take the Aztecs. I'm running impatient. I want to see you pull it off with monarch.:)

Do you think you're gonna start to go for domination like you did in your first two games, or conquest or whatever?

Ha BTW off topic but this post said I had 241 posts and the others say 240 lol

It depends how things go, I will be leaning toward a domination or conquest victory. I know I won't be shooting for 20K culture or Diplomatic victory. If the 80K total culture or the Spaceship victory is possible I may try that.

Unless if you quote someone, the last post will always show the current post count, while the others will show a -1 postcount.

The Aztecs are down to seven cities, and with my tanks, they are falling quickly.

civ9305lg.jpg

Four turns later they only have four cities left. This is a cakewalk.

civ9318vg.jpg

I get a GL, but it will not be used.

civ9323oj.jpg

Ships from all over the place have put tanks on the island. And with one city left, they don't have long to live...

This marks the end of the game, I took over the last civilization.

Here are some views of my empire on the last turn.

Update continued on next post

In 1782, I claimed my first regent conquest victory.

civ9407vz.jpg

I don't know how my nation got so powerful with a literacy rate of 10%!

civ9419gf.jpg

I had a long way in culture to go, and I ended the game with 62% land area.

civ9427mv.jpg

My score started going up at the beginning of the game and never stopped.

civ9436tn.jpg

Power was about the same way.

civ9443tx.jpg

Amazingly I had high culture at the beginning of the game, but it dwindled quickly.

civ9451jl.jpg

I did get shoved all the way to the top of the Historical Ranking, the first in my regent series.

civ9463be.jpg

And my nice palace, it may have one thing missing from it though.

The game save got posted in the first post, but it should have been here.

Again, I would like to thank everyone who read and posted on this thread. My next game will be Regent game #4--just kidding! Actually, I will start posting on a Monarch game on Saturday. I did start the first few turns of the game, so here is a preview -

If you want me to post the replay on here or have any other questions, just ask.

This concludes the Japan on regent series.
