Sultan Bhargash
Trickster Reincarnated
I was debating this in another thread and I will put it to you guys. I don't want this thread to turn into another flame war or religious debate.
In my opinion, the archetypal jelly doughnut has powdered sugar on the outside and grape jelly inside. Every thing else requires a modifier: "glazed jelly doughnut", "strawberry jelly doughnut", etc. etc.
So I put it to you: if you hear that you are about to get a jelly doughnut, what do you expect?
This is NOT a thread about "what doughnuts taste better" though I imagine you could move this in the direction of the excellent Pie thread and cheese thread. This is a question of what do you guys consider a baseline jelly doughnut.
Thanks for weighing in.
