JNES: Civilizations II

Hmm, are there any previous players or policies implemented by Andalusia I should know about? I want to keep faithful to the spirit of how it was previously played, considering how important the country is. :)

We are blood brothers.... allies till death... not much need to be said. :p

In case you did not catch the subtle smiley, it is just a joke.

What time do you want the orders by Jason?

Midnight tonight.

Nope. Policies mostly geared towards peace and cultural prosperity.

We will agree to the MPP. However, if your merchants wish to use our ports they will pay a tax.

We are a peaceful nation and do not want to align ourselves exclusively with any nation. We will accept your merchants, but not your treaties.

From: Canciller Alfonso of the Andalusian Republic
To: The Republic of Canfre, Consul Gregorius

With your recent statements of provocation against the Carthaginians, I feel this a perfect time to set aside pleasantries and arrive at the meat of the matter. From this point on, Andalusia will not tolerate further encroachment west. Our interests lie there, as yours lie in the center and east of the Mediterranean.

If you are willing to agree to this demarcation, then there will be no quarrel between us and perhaps further discussions can continue.

From: The Andalusian Republic
To: The Council of the United Cuetan Colonies

It is with the security of Iberia and the peoples of Cueta and Andalusia that I extend an offer of alliance to this council. There would be no need for each other to help in aggressive wars, but only to protect this land from foreign intrusion, whether it be Anwellic, Celtic, or Kurugean.

Your people have been scattered once by the misfortunes of war, next time there may not be another abode for them to evacuate to.

From: The Andalusian Republic
To: The Esteemed Monarchs of the Numidian & Timurian Kingdoms

As we find our economies intertwined and as the armies of encroaching empires find their way closer and closer to our border, it is the idea of Andalusia that we combine our might in a three-way alliance of the western Mediterranean.

Let us grow rich from even closer cooperation!

Claiming Nok!

The Cuetens first came from an empire that spanned all of western north africa and had colonies throughout the Mediterranean until the Almoravid Empire from the south came and destroyed them. The Almoravids, though, did not have a fleet and so the Cuetan colonies continued on until one by one they were taken over by neighbors. The last and most powerful colony is where the UCC is now. Many Cuetans migrated to this last Cuetan outpost and has thus overpowered many of the natives in the area.

There are still considerable Cuetan diaspora across the Mediterranean in almost every nation. Cuetan traders, operating under other banners, conduct much of the trade in the region. The Cuetan alphabet is also the basis for many languages in the Mediterranean, including the languages of the Iberian peninsula, OTL southern France, and has highly influenced Canfre (Canfre language is a sort of Latin-Cuetan hybrid).

My baby

From Consul Gregorius of the Republic of Canfre

Once the island of Sardinia lies in our hands and Carthage understands this Canfre has no reason for further encroachments to the west. We have no reason to go to Iberia, so you have our word as Senators that we will not march west, else the power of the Gods will will punish us so.

Jason, I still need some history about Lakoda before I parrot about trading horses for Tobacco!

Fortunately I'm in a distant area and I haven't got any stats as yet :p

In any case I've been my usual busy self and haven't been able to find the time to sit down and do my usually quite long orders or an accompanying story. Apologies.
