Military Maneuvers:

July 2004 (Turn 14)

The First Wing Close air support squadron will fly to Greenland, and support in the following military actions:

The Transport Fleet and the HMCS Vancouver sailed into the Northern Passage, between Iceland and Greenland. The 5 Armored divisions will then be loaded on to the Transport Fleet, and The Halifax, Vancouver, and the Loaded Transport fleet will sail to Iceland.

Invasion of Iceland

Attackers: 5 Armored Divisions
2 Halifax class Frigates
1 Close Air Support Squadron

First, Armored troops will take control of the Capitol, Reykjavík, supported by the Naval Vessels Halifax and Vancouver, and the Close Air Support Squadron. After the capitol falls, the Armored divisions will split into three groups: Task Force Alpha, consisting of the 1st and 2nd armored divisions, and the HMCS Vancouver; Task Force Beta, consisting of the 4th and 5th Armored divisions, and the HMCS Halifax; and Task Force Gamma, consisting of the 3rd armored division and the Close air support squadron. Task Force Alpha will be charged with taking the southern part of Iceland, first taking Straumsvik, and Harfnarfjördhur, then continuing in a clockwise fashion around Iceland. Task Force Beta will do the same thing, except in an anticlockwise fashion. Task Force Gamma is charged with Defending the Capitol, and/or going after any other Invaders (hint hint). Once Alpha and Beta meet up in Seydhisfjördhur, they will head back through the center of Iceland to Meet up with Task Force Gamma.

EDIT: Made a few corrections

Re-EDIT: Made a few Clarifications, and realized the Close Air Support Squadron is able to come along.

OK, first of all, if anyone has a question about the invasion, you must post it above the part where you start battle plans, because I don't read the the invasion plans until i do battles so I can fairly make the defensive purchases of NPC's.

Now, since the name Jason caught my eye luckily, here is your answer: Yes, I believe in one month a jet squadron can fly to greenland, refuel, and then to Iceland (air units can move two countries a turn).

Give Sixteen Credits to Germany

Plexus, your not giving Germany the airborn transport squadron, right? Because if you are just thought to let you know that you can only give UU's, not regular units.

Jason

Technically, It wasn't in with the Battle Plans, It was in the phase where I move my troops.

Thanks for the info, anyway.

Are you talking aboot a right of passage?

Poland
First, Diplo:
From Poland To France:
OK. Thank you.

Economy: Turn 14 Income (18 credits) + Turn 13 Bank (3 credits) + Gift from France (4 credits) = 25 credits
Purchases:
1 Stealth Bomber in Poland (15 credits)
1 Tactical Nuke in Poland (10 credits)
BANK 0 LEFT-OVERS.
Military Crap:
OK. ALL GROUND/HIND/CLOSE-AIR-SUPPORT UNITS ARE TO BE PUT IN FULL DEFENSE WHEREVER THEY ARE!
Arm both Stealth Bombers with both Tactical Nukes (one each, both Stealth Bombers are curerntly in Poland)
The Nuke-Armed Stealth Bombers launch from Poland towards Sweden. Once they reach Sweden, Stealth Bomber 1 drops Tact. Nuke 1 into Sweden and flies off (they do fly away after they drop it, right?). This will target the 8 Factories in Sweden. Stealth Bomber 2 drops Tact. Nuke 2 into Sweden to target the surviving military, just in case and flies back to Poland. (They do fly back, right?).
Please not that:
1. There are NO AIR UNITS IN GERMANY TO SHOOT THE BOMBERS DOWN!!!
2. Nukes take out ALL factories in a country.
3. I'm sending in 2 Nukes to a) make sure its all effective, and b) wipe out remaining military.
AGAIN, ALL OTHER MILITARY UNITS ON FULL DEFENSE!!!

WOW!. THIS I DID NOT EXPECT!

Anyways, no more orders will be excepted after 9:00, and thats when I will start battle reports since i am watching a show.

You guys sure are taking a risk posting it here.

Jason

Jason, All I can say is, This ought to be good.

Jason: Excuse me if I'm wrong, but is it not possible to build factories in individual contries, rather than your empire as a whole? I requested a factory in Mongolia, a 2 credit country. So, wouldn't it cost 5 credits?

I think it would provide an unfair advantage.

Jason, remember: Britian and Canada are both invading Iceland, and they both want it. What will happen?

Octavian: Yes, you can build it in other countries (in fact you have to specify where you build them) but it goes by the income of your empire as a whole, not just the country.

Red: We will see ;)

many things going on. Sheep sent me orders for this turn by PM since he said he might not be here.

Starting the battles now.

Jason

This should be interesting, because Warman hasn't posted...

Sheep's going to be pissed...

Oh, and it's been half an hour since you started the battles...

Octavian: Last warning. When you attack, you must say exact numbers of forces, not "all my t-80's".

Also, sorry in advance to those nations who are invading an NPC country normally (unlike iceland and the germanic campaigns) as I wanted to concentrate more on those and did not write a lot on yours.

I also skipped Sgt. Hellfish's battle, as I don't think he would actually want to do it if he knew better. If this is a mistake, I will do the battle when you say so.

***RUSSIAN INVADES FINLAND***
The air war over Finland was quickly won by Finnish figthers as they out maneurvered and basically were a larger force then the Russians sent. The artillery around the border were able to bomb as far as Helsinki, destroying a mech infantry there. Then the Russians moved in from the east, taking the main railroad junction of the country at Joensuu, and then proceded on into the main southern reaches. Immedietly they met with gunships, two squadrons of them, that destroyed many T-80 divisions easily before being destroyed themselves. On the campaign went into Tampere where 3 mech infantries met with 4 T-80 divisions. The battle was won by the T-80's, though at a huge cost. The last mech infantry was destroyed at Helsinki as the Russians captured the capital.

Losses: 1 Stealth bomber, 1 Stealth Fighter, 6 T-80 Divisions.
Required Garrison: 2 for 3 turns

***CANADA AND BRITAIN INVADES ICELAND***
The Icelandic force was met first by the British coming from the south who captured Vik and Egilsstadir with the limited ground force they sent, destroying 2 mech and 2 gunships with their Harriers. The the Harriers met with a force almost equal to their own in the sky, two Icelandic figther squadrons battled it out over the skies of Vatnajokull glacier. Partly due to the higher technology, higher numbers, and the fact that they could take land and take off vertically on the glacier, the Harriers were able to take the skies only loosing one squadron. Then the Canadians came, and when I say came, I mean came. The land forces overhwhelmed the rest of the Icelandic force, and many skirmish between Britain and Canada around Reykjavik blasted out, and in the end the British were forced to leave

(What I did here and what I will do in future circumstances like this is I decided whose force would have beaten the others, and the weaker one retreats to where they came).

British losses: 1 Harrier Squadron, 2 infantry, 1 mech infantry
Canadian losses: 2 armored divisions and one close air support
Required Garrison: 2 for 3 turns

***LIECHENSTINE NUKED***
Not much to say here, a bomber escorted by a stealth fighter entered Liechenstine airspace and dropped the nuclear warhead upon the factories in the capital city. Everything was destroyed and almost all the population was killed.

German losses: One Factory

The Liechenstine income generated by the province alone has dropped to ONE credit per turn

***THE BOMBARDMENT OF GERMANY***
French artillery opened fire early in the morning of July 8th. One Mech. Infantry in Frelburg and one in Rotterdam was destroyed on the German side, and there were no artillery to return fire.

Germany losses: 2 mech infantries (one in Netherlands, one in Germany

***SWEDEN NUKED***
A polish bomber unit left Warsaw and delivered its bomb upon Sweden's most urbanized area, destroying all production there. An hour later another nuke was dropped, targeting the German army in Sweden, destroying many men and equipment.

German losses: 8 factories in Sweden, 2 panzer divisions, 2 artillery, 2 infantry destroyed in Sweden

The income generated by Sweden per turn has been dropped to TWO credits per turn

***CHINA INVADES RUSSIA***
A seemingly empty Russia made it very easy for Chinese forces to stroll in. The Militia put up an unexpectingly strong fight and was able to destroy one amor division! However, the country fell as soon as the invasion met Moscow.

Russian losses: None
Chinese losses: 1 armor division
Required Garrison: 5 for 5 turns

I think thats all of them. Many things happened this turn, should be interesting to hear what happens next ;).

45 minutes! Is that a record?
