JNESXIV Turn 9, 2800bc.

A great road was started by Russian civilians, but has not fully made it to its destination quite yet.

Fighting in Africa! Carthaginian troops finally move against the barbarians that haunted their countryside. Upon destroying two of the camps, the Carthaginians discover maps of the coast of Africa, but even better – GOLD! (+2 economy).

The Polish attempted what will probably be their last offensive in the war against Germany. Three Spearmen attempted to defeat an army more then twice their size to take back Warsaw, but failed. One army was fully defeated by the Germans, while the 2 retreated back to Lodz. The siege of Lodz begins.

Due to the siege and unable to supply the troops, Lodz has had to disband all but two of the glorious Polish armies. This does not look good for Poland.

War in the Middle East! Hmmland troops make their way south en route to attack Jerusalem, a city of Egypt, when they met with Egyptian stone-age men. The Egyptians are able to hold the Hmmlandians back for now, hopefully enough time to bring in reinforcements.

Due to the recent military victories in Greece, and the coming together of the two cultures, cities all over Hmmland rejoice with the spawning of new borders and the control of more countryside along the cities.

Spain on the move! With four armies from Toulouse, the trading nation invades the unsuspecting French, and easily takes the undefended city of Lyons!

Hmmland now gets a taste of it’s own medicine when three Golden Horde armies attack the town of T’bilisi! While the hmmlandians smartly had an army there protecting it, the village will not hold much longer.

English attack the French! A fleet carrying an attempted invasion force to the French mainland was caught by the French Navy in the English Channel. Battle soon broke out, with both sides taking heavy damage, but the French were able to fully defend their shores and not one Englishman made it to the shore.

Due to the French victory in the sea, and the fact that the news in the south had not yet reached them, the Orleans people in the country side decide to take more land, expanding the border.

OOC:

Emu, like I said in the rules, you must state each time you are either building or continuing a city where it is. Tell me in your orders this turn, and I will add it to the map, for now it just exists on front page.

Pug, you do not have 6 armies, next time please do not say 5/6-type stuff for orders.

Everyone, please remember to say what city you build you units in.

Azales country, Kingdom of the Euphrates, is now NPC.

Besides Azale and Sheep (sheep has excuse tho) I got everyone’s orders! Good job!

Ok, like i promised, two new rules (or edited). These start as of now (last turn was not affected by it).

Conquering
When you conquer a city from another player nation or barbarian tribe, you must assimilate it. To do this, you must have it in your control for four turns (the little lines on the city will be white when you conquer it, and each turn that you assimilate it, one will go white) without any interruptions (others taking it over or large battles near it). Assimilating costs you nothing, but you must say it every time in your orders (so I dont forget, lol). Once assimilation is over, the lines turn white again. You can't build anything in it until it is assimilated.

Culture
Each settlement will have a culture status. This is represented by the lines on your settlement icon, the same ones used while assimilating. For each time you upgrade your culture in a settlement, one white line turns to your color. It costs one economic level per culture upgrade per settlement. Culture raises the moral of your settlement and may result in an occasional confidence boost, border expansion, and will help in resistance to foriegn armies (basically a militia, the more culture the stronger it is). You can not upgrade a settlement's culture while you are assimilating it.

what white lines your talking about Jason?
The white in the building in the city icon?

Spain

Orders
Establish city of Seville in south west corner of Iberian peninsula
Build 2 armies in Lyons
Move 1 army from Toulouse to join up with the rest of the army in Lyons
Attack Paris with 7 armies from Lyons
Build road from Zaragosa to Madrid
Build fleet in Barcelona, move fleet south
Assimilate Lyons

Alfonso 2 was ecstatic, he had increased the size of the Spanish empire by 2 thirds in a short period. Alfonso was personally leading the attack on France and would take the capital Paris with possibly the largest army ever gathered in one place. 7 whole divisions would bear down on Paris and defeat was unimaginable. Lyons had surrendered at the sight of Alfonso’s army and he hoped they would see sense again and surrender without bloodshed. Alfonso mounted his horse once again and prepared for battle, Alfonso would lead the center of the army from the front in the assault on Paris while his 2 sons Prince Alfonso and prince Garc would each take control of 1 of the flanking army to encircle Paris. Alfonso’s spies had gathered intelligence showing that at most Paris could muster 3 copper divisions and 3 obsolete divisions, with this knowledge he knew the French would not hold out.

The huge loot captured in Lyons was sent back to Madrid to be invested into Spanish services. The first navy was constructed as well as linking all cities to the road network. This now meant the army could move from 1 side of the empire to the other efficiently. As well the city of Seville was constructed for the excess population and to be a new port on the west coast. Alfonso wondered what happened to his trade income, he thought the profits should have been delivered to him by now but perhaps one of his treasurers had miscalculated, or maybe there was too much corruption in Spain, whoever’s fault it was would be beheaded he declared.

To England
We would like to formalise an alliance between our 2 nations

OCC:
Jason, I think my trade income should have finished its 3 turn cycle, as it was 2 thirds last turn and its still 2 thirds now. Unless you factored that into my income but didn’t change the front page.
