JR-O1: Noble, New Players

you can use either the attachment button in the "Post Reply" or there is a dialog box for uploading images to Imageshack. Then, you can just cut&paste the last link, but make sure you surround the pic with tags. I think it's a button in the Post Reply box.

edit: look, we really ARE the same person!

Go, go PipeHero

We draw Saladin!

(Spiritual, Philosophical)

Here's a picture of our starting lands

I think I'll settle in place. Our warrior should go down to the hills to bust a lot of fog.

Can we make this city into a food producer and possible high GPPer? or is this more of a science city?

were those two other posts you learning ot post screenies?? :)

I would definitely settle in place, but you won't need to explore the Big Fat Cross ~ you're borders will do that. I usually send my initial unit in a circle around the capital to see what's what.

First techs and builds depend on whether you want to go for a religion or not, which, at Noble, is up to you; i have no opinion one way or the other. Either way, Spiritual is great for quick, situational civic changes

edit: please don't feel shy about saying "Pholkhero, you're full of s-!" or nicer ways of disagreeing with me. I'm not the end-all, be-all of civ players so feel free to call BS ~ or just ask me to explain why.

Well I've already begun playing. Played and logged 13 turns with 17 left to go -_-.

If you grow desperate for people I'll be happy to join if wanted, though I'm a prince/noble.

Munterpipe: instead of making the code purposely wrong just use [plain], so you can do stuff like

Edit: This is vanilla civ4, right?

great! you're on the roster.

I'll probably finish my turns tomorrow night and then post.

This is on noble, right? Start by researching Fishing, then head for Priesthood, with a pitstop at Pottery along the way. Start by building a Worker, then switch to a Work Boat once Fishing comes in. Build the Oracle and go for a CS-Slingshot. Cottage all of the plains tiles, including the wine! Switch to Beauracracy and never look back.

May I join? I'm still technically a newb, and have only payed 2 SG's. (Chaos 2,3, and 4 combined together) I have nothing to do for a LONG time. Thus, I usually get to post a got it and a report a few hours after the save is posted. Although, I seem to have a problem with techs, I just keep falling behind...

of course! added to roster.

Yes, on account of Saladin being Protective/Spiritual in Warlords.

Sorry about turn delay but I promise I will have them up today.

Turn 1: 4000 BC

I settle in place and I move our warrior 1 SW. He reveals a tribal village 1 SE of us. Mecca is set to build a warrior, which is due in eight turns.

I decide to go ahead for an early religion and pick polytheism to research. It is due in 11.

Turn 2: 3960 BC

Tribal village gives us 40 gold
Instead of working a grassland/forest that gives 2F/1P, I work a plains/forest that gives 1F/2P. The warrior will build in 5 turns now, but growth is slowed to 20 turns.

Turn 6: 3800 BC

Borders expand giving us a view of our north lands. Within our city radius, we have two wines, one clam, one fish. South of us is a corn and pigs. North of us is gold and cows. Warrior due next turn.

Turn 7: 3760 BC

Warrior is built, starting another warrior. He too is due in five turns. I sent the warrior that was just built NW for exploration while the first one is going SW.

Turn 8: 3720 BC

SW warrior spots a village SW of us. Naturally, I head there.

Turn 10: 3640 BC

Buddhism is FIDAL. Means we have spiritual opponents with mysticism or Huayna. Eek. Lion is accosting our NW warrior, while our SW warrior has a wolf to deal with. We get 49 gold from the tribal village and find Mansa's borders.

Turn 11: 3600 BC

Our warrior defeats the wolf without a scratch. The lion leaves our other warrior alone. Hinduism and our next warrior are due both next turn.

Turn 12: 3560 BC

We found Hinduism! Our warrior also finishes. I order him to fortify. I switch to the highest food yield tile so that we can grow quickly. Our NW warrior finds some lands north of us and another tribal village, of course.
I order another warrior and research agriculture while we wait to grow.

Here's a shot of our north:

Turn 13: 3520 BC

We get.. 20 more gold. Our SW warrior finds ANOTHER tribal village next to Mansa's borders.

A shot of our south:

Turn 14: 3480 BC

This tribal village gives our warrior exp. I order up two woodsman promotions for double movement through forests.

Turn 17: 3360 BC

Mecca grows to size two, and I switch to a grassland/forest so the worker I'll order next turn will finish in 12.

Turn 18: 3320 BC

Our warrior finishes, and we start on a worker. Agriculture due next turn, and we meet Tokugawa's scout and make contact.

Turn 19: 3280 BC

Agriculture->Fishing

Turn 20: 3240 BC

We see Toku's borders. Alright this is where I'll end, and we can go 15 for the rest of this rotation and 10 afterwards

A shot of our north, again:

And one of our south:

We're working on a worker and fishing.
