Whilst your words may be enticing, your race betrays your true agenda.

Creole though you may be, you are still descended of the same stock as the European warmongers.

The People's Brotherhood of Colombia cannot afford to have enemies masquerading as friends.

We shall gladly offer mutual protection, provided it is BY the Latin Americans and FOR the Latin Americans.

As long as you sons of slavers keep your tyrannical boot over the rightful inheritors of Brazil, Peru and Argentina, the PEOPLE of Brazil, Peru and Argentina, we shall have no dealings with you.

Our alliance with Britain is not a threat to interests in the area. We only want to reach out to friendship with the United Kingdom, just as Germany wants to reach out a hand to us. Free trade shall still be open to all nations that wish to trade in China.

From: Qing Empire

We shall join this bloc.

We are glad China is Going to consider our offer,

Dutch European-Asian Trade Bloc

We, the Dutch, propose the nations involved in trade and colonialism in Eastern Asia come to the table and work out an agreement. The agreement would insure fair and equal trade between European and China. We feel that by avoiding pointless squabbles and certain stronger nations from forcing others out of this valuable trading area we shall all prosper.

If this organization is truly in the interest of free trade as you say, then Britain shall join.

Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras agreed to reform the Central American Union, but then Salvadoran President Zaldivar decided to withdraw from the Union, and sent envoys to Mexico to join in an alliance to overthrow Barrios. Mexican President Porfirio Díaz feared Barrios' liberal reforms and the potential of a strong Central America as a neighbor if Barrios' plans bore fruit. Díaz sent Mexican troops to seize the disputed land of Soconusco. Meanwhile, Barrios was personally leading the army into El Salvador, where he was killed at Chalchuapa, El Salvador. Much of the hope for a reunited Central America died with him.

At the beginning of 1885, Guatemala and El Salvador were at war. I'll assume its the same case in this time line.

If you want, unless I need to change the map, which I am not doing.

Mechs? That's just stupid. :p

We're both too poor for ammunition, anyways.

We're going to resolve our differences through the medium of an east-side story street dance-off.

TO: Kingdom of Greece
FROM: Russian Empire

As per our diplomatic concert these past months it is now time to announce, proudly, that our two great countries will be entering into a full alliance. Militarily, Economically and all other means of cooperation known to man. Russian and Greek citizens shall forever be together in mutual defense. Forever shall our regimes last, forever shall the sun be dimmed by our might.

I was just researching France in this time. It turns out that I am currently at war with the Chinese. See Sino-French War. It lasted from August 1884-April1885.

@D'Artagnan59
How about we say that it ended in January 1885 with some treaty. Current Borders I guess. Sound good to you?

The Anglo-Sino Alliance
When documents were signed solidifying the state of alliance between Great Britain and Qing China, the international community went into uproar, claiming that the alliance was an attempt on the part of the British government to create a dominance of Anglo influence in the far east. Though the initial reaction kicked up old dust, as they say, all is well that ends well. With the Chinese government in talks to lease or hand over land to various European nations, it has been clearly shown that the Anglo-Sino Alliance has little bearing at all at the moment on who the Qing will deal with. The Right Honourable Gladstone commented that many of the fears other nations seem to apply to Britain are unfounded and unnecessary.

The United States
Turning heads again in the international community, the United States announced earlier this year its plans to allow the Confederacy to be held by the Monroe Doctrine which forbids interference by powers not situated in the western hemisphere in that area's affairs. Naturally, this is a bold and rather confusing move on the part of the Confederacy, which has only the interference of Britain to thank for its sovereignty as a nation. The New Holy Roman Empire, a young nation in its own right, rose concern over the meaning of the words of the American declaration. In the words of the American response, "... interpret that however you wish." Whether Her Majesty's government will make a statement beyond what it already has in the situation is unclear, though the Confederacy's erratic and perplexing politics has of course many in Parliament on edge. Thankfully, however, the illegal slave trade between many of the African colonies and the Confederacy has mostly groaned to a halt as that nation begins to become even more unclear on its stance in such matters. Provincial officials in such areas are working towards rounding up the illegal traders before the next "season", can begin, as Her Majesty's government passed legislation banning the slave trade throughout the Empire only several decades previously.

Yes Tyrannical...with a constitution...and elected officials...and a high popularity with all of its citizens...given that we fought off Europeans to gain freedom for all citizens in the NHRE...aside from the Imperial family we have no hereditary titles...The Imperial Family has intermarried with Latin population over the years so that we too are Latino...

We feel that you are the warmonger and that you really need to check up on the definition of Tyranny. Suit yourself we will then feel no obligation to defend you though our offer is still open to the sane governments of Latin America. Do not go to war in Latin America or we will have no option but to remove your government.

Signed,
Her Imperial Majesty Isabel Maria de Braganza
