The Ottoman-German Economic Agreement
While German-Ottoman relations have always been warm, they just a little bit warmer. The Ottoman-German Economic Pact will help increase goods travelling between Germany and the Ottoman Empire by lowering Tariffs and also includes a Mutual Defense pact between Our Great Nation and The Ottoman Empire.

To the Emperor of the Ottomans, Lord of Tripoli, Tunis, Morocco and Algeirs, Holder of Mecca, and Protecter of Islam

Thing it is silly that our lord asks us to open our borders to him.

Wat?

Relations between Persia and the Ottoman Empire were largely hostile, they constantly warred particularly during the time of the Safavids, and the Ottomans usually won. When the Qajar dynasty took over they were in much less of a position to directly challenge the Ottomans yet they had one or two wars here and there, and while that situation had largely died down by 1885, the relations between Persia and the Ottomans was not exactly friendly. They tolerated each other at best, and on occasion the Qajar Shah would make pilgrimage to Iraq to the holy Shia cities at Karbala, Najaf, and one other place whose name I forget, the place where where the Last Imam is said to have gone into Occulation, and the Qajar Shah would pay for the upkeep of the Shia shrines in these cities.

However the idea of Persia being suberviant to the Ottoman Empire, or agreeing to let Ottomans wantonly stroll about their lands is not something that would have happened given both their religious differences, and their historical animosity.

You must forgive us if we are worried by your wanton seizure of power in the Middle-East. What is the meaning of this attempt to subordinate previous treaties, and reclaim former Ottoman territories?

Firstly we do not and will not accept Ottoman expansionism, secondly we will not allow British or other powers to cause conflicts with the Ottomans. Our back yard is our back yard. This dog has a bite.

Tensions with Colombia

Relations which had previously been amiable, soured quickly under the new president of Colombia. Apparently uttering constant references to the 'Brotherhood' in diplomatic messages, constant threats, and plans of expansion have led to Her Imperial Majesty declaring that if Colombia declares an offensive war the New Holy Roman Empire will have no choice but to remove his government. Her Imperial Majesty has stated she would not try and claim sovereignty over Colombia if such a situation came to pass. Her Imperial Majesty went on to mention possible actions in...continued page 4A.

University of Rio de Janeiro to be built

Prince of Argentina, Afonso de Braganza, announced that he intends to fund and oversee the creation of a National University in Rio de Janeiro. World Appears to be on Brink of Major War

Experts cannot say which region will be the first to erupt into open conflict but the diplomatic tensions in various regions of the world have reached levels where war is going to break out sooner or later and the question is will the New Holy Roman Empire be drawn in? Most believe not in the immediate future. "The most volatile regions are far distant from the NHRE, such as the Middle East and Africa. Border disputes and various treaties being signed or reaffirmed are leading to the tensions in those regions." Says Professor Duarte Guimarães. He went on to say that the only real threats to stability are the new government in Colombia which does not seem to be altogether sane; and the United States of America who have also begun to flex their diplomatic muscles by calling on their 'Monroe Doctrine' to...continued page 6A

BAM New background, in 1866 a new government took control in Persia that would do all those things.

Does this not violate and figuratively light on fire the non-aggression pact you asked us to sign guaranteeing that the area of Persia and Afghanistan would be free of British or Russian interference?

Awesome. So we're left to conclude that the Ottomans invaded and placed a puppet government in control. I, for one, endorse all Sunni attempts to shatter the heretics base of power and inoculate in it proper religious worship.

No. This is dealing with the Ottoman Empire which is neither Persia or Afghanistan. Our non-aggression pact does not deal with British interference in the Turks land. We will not accept imperialism from either party on the matter. Both sides will back down.

You will recognize the terms of the Berlin Conference and turn over control of the three Provinces of Cyrenaica, Tripolitania and Fezzan. Our words have international backing which you have already agreed to.

OOC: That map is actually a map of the colonies in 1914, not the actual Berlin Conference terms. Heck, France has part of the OTL Belgian Congo in this NES.

That is being fixed next turn. Nations have claims to the Berlin Conference, however, the map will still need to be expanded into and tribal nations will need to be quelled and conquered.

No one of them mentions you in passing, along with every other diplomatic issue which has come to threats.
