Is he overly obsessive with Christianity when you play with him?

(I play with the choose religions option on) & He always chooses Christianity over everything.

Every game he sends out packs and packs of the missionaries to go convert everyone.

:ninja:

Well, if he's Spiritual AND Imperialist, it should not amaze you. Also, even when that's not mentioned in the Civilopedia; leaders have a preset prefered religion (IIRC, that's often present in expansion pack-like mods, like Legends of Revolution).

The preset preferred religion is present in ALL mods. Its part of the base game.

I don't know, but any leader who gets an early religion is gonna send out tons of missionarys to spread it.

I've done work on modding the XML's. There is a line that tells the AI what religion that leader likes best in the game. Justinian's favorite religion, as programmed, is Christianity. Each leader has a favorite religion. Saladin's is Islam, Isabella's and Elizabeth's is Christianity, and so on and so forth.

Not everyone. For example Shaka doesn't have one ;) Maybe that's a boon... Getting shivers if I think about Shaka leading an inquisition squad.

Justinian is the most backstabbing leader out there, never trust in that guy...never :(

Nonsense.

Justinian does not declare at pleased, loves you for same religion, and has an easy favorite civic that goes well with warring against everyone else.

The religious XML-flavored AIs will tend towards more missionaries. Justinian is rarely a threat since his liking theocracy limits religions ---> weak culture and he doesn't declare at pleased so only on the off occasion gets very large. He is a good candidate for an ally though.

Nup, even if you are in the same faith boat with him and full green with him, he declares on you, he's the most treacherous and vicious weasel, at least in my games :)

Probably Gilgamesh is second to him, not sure, but i'm sure Mr Justy, is the king of treachery

Chaka at least ask you a tribute to avoid a war :D

Justinian? Back-stabbing? Naaah. He's a religious zealot. If you are different, war. If you are the same, he's awesome. The backstabbers are (in order of severity) Catherine-Alexander-Julius Caesar-Napoleon. I probably missed a few, but these are off the top of my head. Shaka will declare war on you, always. He'll ask for a demand, and wether he gets it or not. He will still most likely DoW on you very soon, because his asking for a demand is tied to your power rating, which is a factor in his targets.
Washington is a tricky nut, he doesn't demand too much. But he seems to ALWAYS declare if you refuse...

You can make up whatever pretend play world you want.

In normal BTS, justinian is XML-defined to not declare at pleased or higher. Only exceptions are the AP and if he decided to go to war before becoming pleased.

If Justinian is the king of treachery, about half the leaders in the game are GODS of it.

ive never had justinian declare on me....ever! he's so easy to befriend and doesnt declare at pleased. IMO the worst back stabbers are:

catherine, willem, Julius caesar, napoleon and alexander. i believe ghenghis, shaka and ragnar will also declare at pleased. louis is also a backstabber. do ne of the AI's declare at friendly?

For god's sake:
* ALL leaders do declare at friendly.
* no one plans war at friendly, planning the war is what's important, not declaring.
* catty can be bribed to declare on you at friendly.

As for declaring: having nukes yourself increases the price to get declared on by bribes (250 per nuke) and AI having nukes also increases the price (150). If you have a lot of nukes you won't be declared ever by Cathy :D.

If you play with Random Personalities turned on (as I always do), do they still have the same favorite religion, or is that randomized as well?

I like when in the diplomatic screen he shows his disapproval of a deal/proposal/tribute request... angrily swiping his hand lol.

I've had Justinian plan war vs me a few times though, I usually build up my forces when he asks me where he should put his Catharpract(sp?) and deal with him.
