Kabul, Afghanistan under attack!

I just saw on CNN that Kabul is being attacked, and missles are flying over the city, and AA guns returning fire.

At the moment, it is a bit doubtful, if this is part of a US retaliation, or part of internal Afghanistan conflict between fractions of guerilla groups on a northern front.

It seems too silly and premature for a US strike, with so little knowledge about who's responsible for the terrorist attacks on the US. Hopefully there's more news soon. What do you think of this turn of events?

Those Afgans are probably just shooting at a few unarmed civilian aircraft. I doubt that the US would have authorized stikes this quickly...and if they are under attack, I don't care. **** 'em! **** 'em right in the ******* with a big rubber dick!

News was just out, that explosions in Kabul IS NOT part of a US retaliation. Thank God!

Bluemonday, nuking everybody based on rumours is not going to get those dead people back! It might trigger something more disastrous, like people acting without thinking. I doubt if it would bring about another WW, but it could very easily create another unhappy situation, just somewhere else. I would NOT be happy with a situation, where renewed terrorist attacks on western Europe (including my country) would be probable!

I have no doubt the US will strike somehow, but hopefully Bush and his advisors will think before acting.

Good. They couldn't possibly start retalitating this early...but I've seen pictures of Kabul and there's a lot of stuff going on. If they want Laden (spelling?) that's where to shoot.

Whoa Whoa Whoa, pull that bus over to the side of the pretentiousness turnpike, Morten. I am not in any way saying that action this early is warranted. It definitely is not. I'm just saying that is a few of those camel-loving, gun-totting, whiskey-snortin terrorist die tonite I won't shed a tear.

Here's what's really going to happen:

1. Firefighters, police, FEMA, the Red Cross, and other volunteers are going to pull all the bodies they can from the rubble. Many bodies will never be found, but they will find many bodies. And when I say many bodies I don't mean ten or twenty or a hundred...I mean thousands.

2. The FBI and MPs will make an investigation while the rest of the civilized world has a few ceremonies (while the barbarians have a few celebrations). We will find out who did this.

3. We will strike. And many camel-****ers will die.

Do you think they'll find out who did it?

There's been a lot of unsolved terrorist attacks in the past. This threat is really difficult to answer in a traditional political/military sense. There might be an emotional need for some sort of retaliation right now, but I would rather hope to see a long-lasting solution of some sort to the problems of the middle east. With the US and EU more active players than they have been hitherto. So we don't risk seeing more of this in the future.

I got this story from <a href="http://www.9newws.com" target="_blank">www.9newws.com</a> (denver local news)WASHINGTON (AP) - A U-S official says the United States is not attacking Afghanistan. Explosions have been heard in the Afghan capital -- but the official says it's not the result of any U-S attack.

Instead, the official says rocket attacks from Afghan rebels are causing the noise in Kabul. The attacks are in response to an attack on a rebel general over the weekend.

Officials in Kabul had said earlier that they weren't expecting any U-S attack in response to the terrorist attacks in the U-S today -- even though Afghan gives shelter to Osama bin Laden. The accused terrorist mastermind is described by U-S officials as the chief suspect in today's terrorist airline-hijacking attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

<br />Bin Laden has lived in Afghanistan for five years.

This is probably mostly known by everybody but I decided I mine as well post it anyway

I think it is time USA to strike back and attack Afghanistan and other countries that are involved in helping the terrorists.
