Name: Martin Leibniz
Alias: The Iron Grenadier
Gender: Male
Age: Technically 96, but he has the body of a 27. He, however, will claim he is 68, and wasn't truly born until after the war
Appearance: 6'4'', blonde, blue eyes. The drugs used on Martin included steroids, and thus he is quite muscular. His supervillian costume comprises of of feldgrau-colored pants, no shirt, and his vintage stahlhelm and Iron Cross.
Biography: Martin Leibniz was born in Berlin, Germany, during the height of the Great War. His father, who conceived Martin before going to the trenches of the Western Front, died shortly after Martin was born, and thus never saw his father. He grew up in the Wiemar Republic with only one parent, which led to financial instability and a general sense of dread.
The depression of the '30s did not help the situation. Due to the few jobs left were expected to go to men, his mom couldn't find any work. This poverty led to Martin being forced to work himself, generally doing menial labor which built his body. His one source of joy came from a Jewish girl named Gisa, who he had a secret relationship with. When Hitler and his Nazis came to power, however, he felt that he couldn't help to admire and support the Fuher, all the while keeping his Jewish Girlfriend a secret. This awkward situation went on until the fateful night of Kristallnacht. Afraid of what would happen to her, Gisa tried to find shelter in Martin's home. Martin, however, didn't want to be exposed as a Jew Lover. Desperate, he grabbed a knife from the kitchen, and in fury, stabbed her in the throat. With blood splattered all over the walls, Martin swore that all Jews had to die. The next day, he joined the Waffen Schutzstaffel.
The next year, Poland was invaded, the next victim of Nazi aggression, and World War II spiraled from it. The SS had grand plans to create a supersoldier to show the superiority of the Aryan race, but needed test subjects in order to create them. Due to his Aryan appearance and muscular built, Martin was chosen to be one such test subject and was pulled out of the Waffen-SS in order to undergo rigorous training and testing. Known as Test Subject 4 in those days, Martin constantly outfought and outperformed the other subjects, and thus was subjected to even more augmentations. Eventually, his body seemed to be the only one that could handle the drugs being produced by the crazy Nazi scientists, and the other subjects started dying off. But Test Subject 4 lived on, and by June of 1944, was the only one left. With the war hitting the fan, and being the last one left, Martin's training was dubbed complete, and was sent over to France in order to stop the Allied horde.
Martin fought heroriclly in the fatherland, especially in the Falasie Pocket, where he had over a hundred confirmed kills, and a Iron Cross for his bravery. However, while he fought valiantly, one man could not hope to change the outcome of history. Constantly being forced eastwards and eastwards, Martin was recalled back into Germany shortly after the Battle of the Bulge. The High Command did not want their special soldier or the science that created him to fall to Allied command, and thus was forced to go along on their flight to Argentina. This shook Martin greatly. If he was to be the ubermensch, then how come he didn't change the outcome of the war? Furthermore, why was he taking orders from these incompetent men, who were clearly of an inferior breed? He was the true Aryan, not any of them.
Once he went to Argentina, he snuck away from the exiled Nazis, vowing to never associate himself with them. If a new reich was to be rebuilt, it would be under him, not the so called master race. However, as time went on, the idea of Nazism in general faded from him, replaced with a general hatred of humanity in general. He was indeed the master race, and that meant him having to destroy everyone, including his makers. This revelation coincidentally occurred with the rise of the Gale of Hope, a new super heroine who vowed to destroy the Nazi remains that lived within Argentina.
Martin began a guerrilla war in the 90s, the rural regions of Argentina, uncaring that his former allies where being arrested one by one. He never felt so alive, indiscriminately killing everyone he saw at his own leisure. However, this seemed to attract the attention of the Gale of Hope, who preceded to flush him out. However, the two managed to fight to a standstill, with Gale being forced to pull out before dying. She swore justice will return when she was stronger.
Twenty years later, and the constant murders in Argentina attracted the attention of the Pandora Syndicate, who attempted to scout him to their organization. Seeing a chance to advance his goal in killing everyone, he accepted. However, this only led to Gale to go back on his case, seeing it as her last chance to bring him to justice before she retires of age.
Nemesis: Gale of Hope. An aging super heroine from Argentina with wind-based , she captured the world's attentions and heart in the 1980s after the then young and novice super went on a crusade against the remaining Nazis who fled to Argentina. For the next twenty years, she systematically brought each and every one to justice after many long chases and fights. One, that is, except for Leibniz. Although now in her 50s and growing old, she refuses to give up the hunt, and continues to follow the Iron Grenadier, knowing that she will get weaker every day.
