Update 2: Spring 2022
"My centre is giving way, my right is retreating, situation excellent, I am attacking."

Rome vs. Yugoslavia: The Conflict Ignites!
The war over the disputed region of Constantinople began to the roaring sound of jet engines and the pounding rhythm of AA cannon. Over the skies of Eastern Thrace, the Yugoslavian Air Force battled with their Roman counterparts for much-needed aerial superiority. While the more experienced Slavic pilots held a distinct advantage at the outset, the Romans were able to even the odds somewhat after several key airstrikes on Yugoslavian air fields hurt their combat capabilities.
However, several Yugoslavian bombers, loaded with napalm and their sights set on Smyrna, managed to pierce the Roman air defense and head towards their target. Roman civil defense engineers prepared the city for a napalm strike, four of the bombers abruptly vanished from radar detection. The remaining bombers immediately turned and headed back for friendly territory, puzzling both Roman civil defense engineers and Yugoslavian air force officers. The only clue to the mystery was when a UAV drone found traces of the missing bombers saturated in radioactive energy.
Meanwhile, as the bombers screamed overhead, the People's Army slammed into the Roman defenders of Eastern Thrace. The Roman defenders fought bravely and inflicted many casualties, but were slowly and irrevocably pushed back to the grand city of Constantinople. While the hardy Roman navy had stopped the Yugoslavians from enforcing a total blockade of the Mediterranean, there was a resounding fear that the Slavic onslaught would move too quickly for the defenders to entrench themselves for the long siege. Fortune struck once again, however, as the Romans received help from an unlikely source: Italy.
As the bulk of the People's Army pushed towards Constantinople, the Italians launched a surprise attack on the western holdings of Yugoslavia, overwhelming the reserve of the People's Army stationed there. A defensive force was quickly mobilized, but didn't succeed in stopping the Italian assault until they had reached the outskirts of Bosnia. The initial assault blunted, the Italians began to regroup, while the Slavs received much-needed reinforcements from the Eastern Front.
Thus the lines of battle are drawn. Bolstered by the timely diversion of troops, the Romans dig in for the long siege as the People's Army, bruised but far from defeated, regroups and prepares for the next round. Italy prepares to march once again, as the Kalmar Union forces arrive in Yugoslavia and prepare to join in the siege of the Queen of Cities. Only one thing is certain: this war is far from over.
North America: The Natives are Restless!
Meanwhile in the Americas, peace seems to have prevailed as the Texans, ostensibly distracted by rising crime rates, allowed the Gethic Hand to move into Wyoming unopposed. However, the region was already home to hundreds of new settlements that owed loyalty to the Texans, and had no strong love for the loathsome newcomers. While a show of force was enough to quell some of the more cowardly upstarts, others have retreated into the woods and began waging guerrilla warfare against Gethic units in the region. Inspired by tales of the Texan Republic's struggle against Mexican invaders years ago, the San Jacinto Guerrillas, as the ragtag bands of settlers have been labeled, have made one thing absolutely clear: the Gethic Hand are not welcome here.
Europe: Viva La...Orleans?!?
As war raged in Eastern Europe, the unsteady Norman Alliance seems prepared to instigate a new one. Following the attempted arrest of several politicians loyal to the Orleans cause, the enraged Orleans faction seceded from the Alliance, punctuating the split by sending a request for an alliance to the British instead of the Germans. Reports that the Normans are mobilizing forces to quell the rebellious upstarts are troubling to proponents of the status quo. The rumors that The Maiden vowed to defend the innocent people of Orleans from Norman aggression, even more so.
International Recognition
Following the formation of the UN, several subcommittees have of course been founded to take a census on the status of various nations across the world. Their reports for this season are as follows.
The World Defense committee has extensively examined military installations worldwide, and have determined the overall strongest military force at this time is
Yugoslavia, owing to their veteran land and air force and their current successes in the conflict against Rome. Which we deplore of course. The
Gethic Hand and the
Commonwealth receive honorable mentions as well.
The World Economics committee, upon perusing the world's longest spreadsheet, have determined that the fastest growing economy in the world is currently the
Federal Republic of Germany thanks to the successful efforts of their robotics program, though the title is hotly contested by the
Maghreb Union,
Korea, and the
Central Asian Union.
The World Sovereignty committee has issued a poll determining what percentage of a nation's citizens would like to see their leader's head removed from their shoulders to determine overall political stability. Showing a remarkable recovery from the sudden assassination of their prime minister, the
Commonwealth has been determined to be the most stable country in the world, with
Germany, the
Cult, and the
Gethic Hand being less likely to succumb to a rash of cranial amputation.
Special Events
The French Are Revolting
European nations will receive political penalties this turn.
