Good work on combining these several mods! I might have to start playing around with this game again and see what I can come up with. :)

One thing that's really irritating me though... when I go to load this mod, it take like 15 minutes, literally, for the game to load up. I hite CTRL+ALT+DEL, and it's still in the Process tab, but it's constantly using 100% of my CPU power for the whole 15+ minutes.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it (or perhaps they have, but I'm not reading 17+ pages right now!).

This has to be some kind of bug or glitch or something... there's no way my computer (2.6 P4 w/ 1.5GB RAM) should take this long to load a mod.

Anyway I just thought I'd pass this on... keep up the good work.
 
Ive gotten through 225 turns with no ctd although i came across a few other things....
when you mouse over salt it gives the image for cofee.
when you mouse over olives it gives the natural gas image.
when you complete the great wall a low res vid of the great wall comes up.(a fairly good wonder movie for the great wall was included with the warlords exspansion pack).
I captured a barbarian city and it razed automaticly. if this is supposed to happen just tell me.
there is a massiv slow down when you zoom to a city.
chariots upgrade to horse archers but you can still build chariots when you can build horse archers.
if you have the scoreboard active and you zomm to a vity the scoreboard is still visible bloacking your view of the citizen changer thing.
and as mrgeanie said when you press f1 all you get is a blue screen.

thats all that has happened wrong and none of that is all that wrong, just minor differences.

Lord Of War, I havent seen this goodie hut problem, when i played i got gold one tech one worker one settle and more gold. it varied very well.

Keldath, YAY all that time looking over units hasnt gone to waste.
 
unfortunately it looks like the load time is more to do with the way the Civ 4 game engine works so large the mod the more time civ 4 takes to sort it self out . I normally just launch and then web surf here until it's ready :)
 
yeah the long load time is a letdown but it's all worth it and unless your in a super rush you can begin loading it and then go for a short walk and begin your game when you return. for me it loads at tops (thats with wiondows media player and firefox running) 5 winutes, and if anything i find that it loads savegames faster than the regular game (I know thats not really possible but it seems that way). and the turns take one minute at tops. but thats just me and my computer which i upgraded just 2 months ago.

If your computer takes 10+ minutes to load te mod then you should consider getting a sata hard drive they have an exponentially greater data retrieve time.(a sata haed drive is connected with a thin black or red cable, while an old fashioned one will be connected by a wide blue or black serial cable.)
 
I have one more unit suggestion Keldath instead of the russian "red army" you could put Spetsnaz which literally means PSecial purpose unit but is a term commonly used to refer to the russian special forces.
also instead of the chinese steel samurai you could put the type 64 which is a tank used by the chinese marine corps, seeing to the fact that a samurai is japanese.
 
Peeps, about long loading times..it's a matter not by CPU but by caching the mod info to the memory(which is windows controlled) although this also consumes CPU power of course..anyway..I did some testing myself, my Computer stats are written below, and i need 2-3minutes to start the game and 30seconds to load a savegame of 1200kByte. and I don't have a high end computer I'd say. But, when i use classic ATA-33 HDD loading time(well, dunno the end, I quit waiting after 15minutes or so) then i tested on a ATA 133, loading time got around 10minutes to load, S.M.A.R.T. enabled gives you a few % faster loading time..S-ATA loading times drop dramatically..also´..
memory, if you have DDR 400, it's alot faster then DDR 233 or older memory..then there's the point of memory bandwidth..etc etc...I'm telling you this since i get the feeling some of you think it's a CPU based matter why loading time is so long...of course if you run it on a 800Gherz comp that might be the case, but if you have a fast CPU, and still loading times of 20minutes..then you have definatly a bottleneck somewhere in the datastream..check memory, HDD; cables, etc etc..upgrade the bottleneck in your computer..your MS office will also load faster LOL

as for the patches, THANK YOU KELDATH :) so, not going back to vanilla? :)))) Told you we would find it! :P heheheh
 
Morning all - no CTD's here on the missiles patch and everything game wise seems to be running beautufully :). Loading times for me are not a problem - use a SATA 2 raid array mind you - but I just make a cup of coffee. Anyway as for the good huts - I think Lord of War was being extremely lucky I'm playing on chieftain level for testing and have only got 1 tech and 1 warrior in 8 goodie huts rest was small amounts of cash plus the barabarian seem to really sense weak defenses now
 
Congratulations man, I knew you would do it, you only have to be calm and think slowly, no rush, then you will always find the problem, never give up :))


Ps: A friend of mine sold warlords for me Really cheap!! But this weekend the family of my gf will be here >.< I will be testing it next week :D (university next week but well >.<)
 
Unfortunately have to report a CTD :( - seems to happen on using a bombard unit to attack a city - have tried it twice and the crash appears to be on the attack on the city ( see colonge in the attached save game). Am using the missiles patch and no longer get the range barrage so pretty sure it's installed correctly.View attachment 137223

Edit It may be mellee attack - attacking with catapults is fine - I'll try starting with archers next (playing mohawks)

OK have locked it down to Melee attacking of cities - as soon as you attack Colonge with a swordsman the game crashes

I am sorry to say, but even after the new patches, the game crashed, when japan declare war to me
 
I have a bunch of Axemen and Hypaspists up beside a Mongolian city. But when I click to attack, the game CTDs. I have installed the patches, btw.
 
Kel..are you sure your missiles only patch took out all the stack attack things from dale? give us a patch without anything of Dale's mod...
maybe it's not the stack attack itself, but some combat issue requesting something..anyway..im pretty sure the CTD lays in the fact of:
>1 versus >1 combat..Im testing alot 1 on 1 combat possibilities..no CTD!
so it must be in the >1 versus >1 which is causing the CTD
 
Why dont you first make 1 without ANY code of Dale's mod?? It seems Dale's mode is causing the crashes because it really changed the combat and the combat is crashing!

are you all sure to have installed the patch correctly? only the missile patch of keldath!! not the other files he listet to test!! because im really forcing everything that caused CTD yesterday..im traying all kinds of units stacked against other units stacks, forced war between ALL AI's in my game, im giving cheating them all 100of units..no CTD...

anyway guys if youll go back one page youll see that threres two patches,

so you tested the one with the missiles,

i also made one that has only sevo's sdk files, this patch must work, cause it has no trace to dale's work.

ill be checking the ctd's again -
the missiles coding i used is basicley made for vannilla - not forwarlords,
but i was able to merge it,
so in the mean while, use the only sevo patch to play,
and ill release apatch for dale mod soon,
he gave me a new version - 1.2.1 or 1.3 if you wish...

jaxsun, thanks for these reports, ill make sure to fix then - you gave me a lot of work with our reports :)
about the goody huts, i really dont know why, but i also when i did one game test, got 2 settlers, and perhaps only one time before i got one in civ,
i have no idea where to i control this one - but ill look into it.

about the loading time.....

well, it sucks no doubt about it - when i used my game with the vanilla, i had o wait a long time for it to load...
at first i thought my cpu is bugged or my civ is bugged, but then the game started to run after doing other stuff,
so nowi load civ, and surf around the forum passing time, or bugging my sister....:)

anyway, i think its back to the "drawing board" now,

so keep me posted, and use this patch with dale free:

patches??? makes me think you did installed something wrong..should have installed only patch 1!
 
The crash i'm getting is only when the swordmen attack the city - it happens both in stack and individual - if you melee attack against a unit not fortified in a city it's fine ( haven't tried yet against a unit fortified in open space yet though.

Mr genie - how did you install your mod - just wondering if it's the sequence of installation - What I did was Kels - then patch 1 then patch 2 then missile patch ( had installed patch 1 before 2 came out)

Should I just reinstall from scratch?

I'll install the sevo patch is this to be installed on a fresh install of the kel mod?

BTW the link you posted 2 posyts Keldath doesn't work for me :(

I just cheated me 40different types of units against USA 40different types of units..i ran down every possible fight...no CTD...
