Kingdom Come: Deception (Game Thread)

Yeah, in all fairness, being tracked going nowhere is hardly clearing, but the result couldnt be anything else because I am vanilla.

Much like you couldn't know MJ was literate... unless you did.

That was a slip, of the interchanging one almost invisible cipher (G1K) for another almost invisible cipher (Marcher). If you wanna hang me for it, you will, but among the things to mislynch me over it is a petty one.

Was the quick and easy acknowledgement that you are in no way cleared because you recognized there was no gold down that path, or because you are an honest townsman?

It is interesting though, this Marcher miscall business. Odd coincidence that I did happen to call on someone who did happen to be literate aside, I need to look further into how Marcher responded to such an accurate bolt from the blue...

True, outside of committing himself to even a throwaway vote, he ended up voting himself. If something suggests that wolves trusted topsecrets' claim, it would be this. Golden's posting isn't bad but his votes lack any courage and mostly sheep instruction of whoever is leading town at the moment.

For the record, voting myself when TS could have easily jumped on me involved some degree of courage lol

I might be jumping ahead of myself here to make this association but johanna calling Knight's self-vote towny smells of him defending a buddy. I promised to keep an eye on Jo today and I nothing so far would have improved Dolbster's opinion if he were alive by my reckoning.
Voting Tak despite liking him is another weird thing for town to do.

Well, all votes for late arrivers on super tie would be suspicious. Broke the tie? Dead. Voted on someone who you did not sus to keep the super tie? Suspicious. Voted on someone who had no votes and you didnt publicly sus? Suspicious. Voted on yourself? Suspicious. Nowhere to run.

The fact that you are willing to say this in public when, based off of all available information, you could easily lie and make it out to say whatever you wish is town to me. Also town points to Tim for giving it to you.

Thanks for that pocketing attempt, I feel flattered ;)

But seriously, how to you think that your role benefits town?

It's because it's true.

I'd also be surprised if the maf's only counter to all our PRs is just a strongman. I'm sure they got more powers and in that context, having been tracked doing nothing should at least give me some townie points.

In my read looking for the whole literate misunderstanding business I have been struck by something else.

Marcher has wanted to lynch Argon pretty much from the moment he laid eyes on him, and to me that is a very townie response on first encounter with Argon. Not only is Argon pretty deep in my "that could easily be a mafia" pool, but I think flipping him mafia clears Marcher, which makes it a potentially double good lynch. I actually like G1K's responses with regards to the literacy thing so far, so without the Argon test I'm kind of at a loss as to which toff I'd hang.

Some thoughts about roles:

Topsecret's tiebreaker power is definitely a town power?

Not definite, but lean town I guess. Also I have generally liked his arguments, and agreed with many.

GameZ explaining the letter is towny?

I do not really see it. The content of the letter was a very weak use of a power. If he was wolf, he could have let the argument fester, but then not really been able to use the power again without making himself very suspect.

Csargo Doctor claim being town?

I guess it has to be. Actually being a doctor has to make him town, and lying about being a doctor would have made him a massive target to both sides.

Takhisis power?

I have some suspicions about this. 1st night we have heard a dog barking, but have had no information about what they saw. We have the statement "The most I can get him to do now is sit around here and bark if anybody approaches the mill", so does that mean someone approached the mill 1st night? Or someone approached JohannaK?

And a point about Dobly murder, I am surprised by it as being "mason" with a newbie does not seem that good, when there is a claimed doctor. I am glad neither of us mentioned that we were not really masons, we knew each other way back so knew we were both town (if we believed Arakhor), but could not communicate outside of this thread.

I am tending towards vote: JohannaK, but I am very unsure. I have not figured out this "information from votes thing". LA and GZ are my other top suspects.

I believe Tak's claim, because it fits balance wise into what I'd expect another pro-town power to be. It also explains why he was RPing so freely under the pressure of Tims and others, it makes the most sense to me that he's just town here.

It doesn't. It's mostly useless. The only reason I voted Marcher Jovian was because I only got clarification that last nights letter was dropped off, not received. I did ask him what it said and I never got a response either

There it is.

I did not receive a letter last night. There's probably some sort of roleblocker or thief on the mafia team.

I understand why I'm getting suspicion, with a third of the town dead and another third having credible claims to power roles the suspect pool is shrinking pretty fast. But if you want to string me up today, can you at least get a solid claim out of LordArgon first instead of letting him skate through yet another day without explaining himself? He's claimed to have some kind of special role but has refused to tell town on the basis that it's a selfish power that doesn't help town, which is a claim so suspicious that I'm a little afraid he's actually a jester trying to get lynched. Even in the most townie scenario possible where town gets some penalty if he dies, there's still a doctor around as a higher priority kill. He had the chance to cut off some random theorizing I had that in retrospect was probably not super relevant and useful to the town, but instead decided to let it go on without comment. His play all game long has been scummy as hell and yet somehow the wagon never gets threatening because people keep saying it's just usual LordArgon, changing the subject, and never forcing him to make a defense.

Someone is lying. Why the hell would the wolves steal a letter?

Hey, I'm logged in from the Windows partition, while playing civ, so responses might be delayed, but if anybody wants me to change my vote before the phase ends and can justify their tequest then there's still enough time.
@Takhisis we need a no BS clarification statement about your role and what you have done. I heard it as a double one shot of tracker watcher. You tracked Jo, who went nowhere, and you watched Csargo, and no one stopped by.
Yes. (OOC: the dog did, rather than the buxom maiden, but it's the same player)
I.e. anybody else might have targetted JoanK and they wouldn't have been seen, and Csargo asked me whether I saw him target anybody but I didn't see; he might have targetted others or not.
My only remaining ability is the pasive. If you stop kicking my dog he'll be onto anybody who targets me on night phases.

And no, that does not clear nor damn either one of them on its own.

So...your dog will know who killed. you...that's bloody helpful...

<kicks the dog in hopes Tak feels it>

It's also helpful if anybody wants to prove that they have an ability.

All tak's dog tells us is that Jo is not killer/poisoner, with the possibility of poisoner being the killers special power. Now Tim's constant dog kicking is very suspicious. He will probably use it as an excuse for why the dog horribly mauls him during the night. On a more serious note, since marcher seems so intent on killing me, I am going to switch to them so their death will prove my innocence. Vote: marcherjovian.

To set themselves up so they could ask "Why the hell would the wolves steal a letter?"

Fair enough lol

But still, letter stealing would be hard to pull off had we not revealed who would get the letters. A very very specific power with a very very specific use indeed.

Anyway, I dont see this as a way to frame the receiver, only the writer.

Brave vote, if he flips town you are the very next lynch candidate.

I forgot there's Jovian.
Wow. Yes, Marcher Jovian is definitely flying under everybody's radar. Must be looked into.

Incidentally, I'm looking at posts in this order: direct mentions, then by thread order. The current tally is, in fact:

Marcher Jovian: topsecret, Golden1Knight, JohannaK, GamezRule, LordArgon (5)
LordArgon: Takhisis, Marcher Jovian, Timsup2nothin (3)
Golden1Knight: pzelda (1)
JohannaK: Samson (1)
Topsecret: Csargo (1)

LordArgon's vote is a typical 'save myself' vote, so, LordArgon: why is your rôle more important than Marcher Jovian's?

Wow. Yes, Marcher Jovian is definitely flying under everybody's radar. Must be looked into.
Well considering he has five votes... I don't know how much he's flying under the ol' radar.

I'm actually happy with Argon/MJ. But I'm still wondering about Jo and G1K.
